It seems Kynthia and Garm are getting along very well and Kynthia is going out of her way to be mindful of Garm's duties which I admire and respect. If she wishes to be an assassin then so be it; at least she is managing her vampirism and is seeking a cure.
I see the potential for some emotional angst coming though. Koen, killer of vampires, is going to face a small moral dilemma since he is not the fanatic that Isran (or say a Templar to use a class from another world). He may not see things in black and white. Just as the towns folk became a bit more accepting (although one can't blame them for being fearful) perhaps he will as well.
So lots of good moral issues and you described their thought processes very well. Lets the readers see into their minds a little and what is making them tick - versus having to guess solely on their actions.
Good collection of images to go with the story as well and I favored the ones I liked on your Flickr account. I also appreciated some of the small plot twists you put in for the vanilla quest line and enjoyed how you handled having a vampire character do that quest.
Great job Alex!
Indeed it does; and I dare say that Kynthia would Long have fallen victim to her vampiric nature turning herself into a feral Vampire without Garm at her side. Even though she does not want to be a assassin; at least not with all her being - she at the Moment just doesn't see another way to have a bit of shelter and friendship in the form of veezara; aswell as some income and possibly Information concerning her main Goal; which still is the ebony warrior.
Indeed; Koen is far away from the black and White views of Isran / the Dawnguard or Templars as you mentioned so it might be quite interesting to see how he will handle a Meeting with Kynthia - even though his past he can't recall will have another huge Impact on that Meeting - even though it will influence kynthia far more as she can recall who he really is even though he can not. The question that remains is if he will believe her; the Vampire; if she tells him who he is.
Very glad you liked the depth of this Chapter; I do hope I can Keep it at this Level at least; possibly/hopefully even go a bit deeper - even though for me personally that is a bit open for debate as Kodlak is still the narrator of the Story; so the question is how much insight would he really have - even though I do have plans to Change that some time in the future at which Point I hope to add more character depth and maybe even direct dialogue which is rather rare at the Moment
Thank you very much, very happy you do like the shots and I did notice the favs on flickr - thanks for that aswell!
Very happy to link to your amazing work!
Thank you again!
The plot thickens nicely. Great work with both the narrative and images!
Seems Kynthia has made Koen quite weary in leading him on quite the chase, being elusive and choosing hidden locations to rest, always having left an inn before he could reach one. Was interesting to learn that Kynthia has made the decision to leave the assassins which is not easy thing to do, theirs is not a family that likes to give up its members but one sly as her is sure to figure out a way without having to fight. That she does not want to cause deaths among them shows her kind heart. She is lucky to have one she is comfortable talking to about her thoughts, looks like she really values what Garm has to say, it is heartwarming to see.
I like how you depicted the fear of Lami, makes sense when one is face with shadowy wanderer and great wolf, seems that despite trying to calm her, Kynthia and Garm could not quite get her to calm down, with the threat of vampires so near. It is good Kynthia was able to convince the man that she had not wanted to kill his wife, after investigating that dug up grave, would have been trouble otherwise. She was quite brave to show her nature to the villagers to keep them from falling to the feral vampires.
I liked the tension as Kynthia and Koen watched each other from a distance, both wondering what the other was thinking, both deciding to keep their distance among the shadows and mists of the marsh. Kynthia left him with a lot to think about as he kept watch over his camp as she headed into that lair. Was quite the smart tactic to draw some of the vampires away with a well place arrow leaving the leader without any to help him. Looks like the master vampire was quite foolish in facing Kynthia, the wildness of his attacks making him an easy target from her precise strikes. Grim does care a lot about her, worrying as she was gone. I am very curious to see if Koen and Kynthia will meet and actually speak, wonderful chapter, Anataron
Even in his shadowy Form and as a Guardian of the Underworld Garm is still very playful and friendly in his heart; so the fresh snow was a welcome Change to the cold Stone of buildings, Caves or the Long travels on the Road. A Change that Kynthia welcomed aswell. She indeed misses the Sun and by now is questioning very much if she has done the "right" Thing in joining the Brotherhood. If she will be able to leave it as she hopes - I doubt it almost; I guess Astrid will have a Price for such "freedom".
She does indeed value Garms opinions and his presence so Close; as for her he keeps her humanity Close to her. The Meeting between Koen and Kyn will most likely be quite interesting. As I assume Koen would be at least willing to talk; while his Comrade might be wanting to attack immediately. Time will tell what it will be like
For the matter of the Villagers and Lami. I guess Kynthia was / is Aware what feral vampires are capable off and did not want to risk losing more villagers to this lair; as she is immune to their disease she at least has only to deal with their attacks and Magic; and both of those things she has a fair share of experience with. So even if a Lair full of Vampires is not an easy enemy; it is still easier for Kynthia herself to deal with those instead of having a crowd of villagers around her
Thank you again, Kamikazekossori!
And now Koen is so close. I fear their meeting is inevitable.
You leave me hanging in suspense once again Kodlak!
But a worthy tale can leave ones throat dry. So please, the next mead is on me.
Until next time Kodlak!
