I must say your shots look AMAZING in this set! Well done! Looking forward to the next chapter!
Oh of course there was a hint of something ominous to come (Honey's trepidation and searching look behind them at imagined noise and the looming prospect of meeting up with the Thieves Guild again), but a story wouldn't be a story without SOME element of danger.
Beautifully weaved (as always) and once again I bow before you and your way with words; "With eyes keen after their few days of rest the group watched the verdant forest around the familiar twisting path down to the open expanse of the plains." - one of the most lovely descriptions I've ever read my friend.
Truly well done.
Adventurers do find danger along their path and sometimes wonder what is to come (Honey Stripes is quite curious as to what she may have seen and Edrelle's meeting with the guild does weigh on her thoughts), I agree, a touch of danger is an important ingredient to a tale.
A joy to hear you find it well weaved and that you like my way with words; really glad that description caught your attention, means a lot that is it one of the loveliest descriptions you have read, my friend.
Thanks bunches, Jess ^^
Best Regards
A very warm and heart warmnig opening to Edrelles new tale. I like how you set the mood in the first paragraph. Dorthe is very cute and "bounding" is a really good word choice for the way she went up the stairs. It implies youthful energy and eagerness.
Unlike the sleepy guard struggling to stay awake on his patrol. I can't imagine how hot and monotanous that must be, especially with some of that heavy armor. Edrelle is smart to be in a profession with more comfortable clothing requirements!
A nice descriptive summary of the butterflies, the grass in the wind lke waves, all leading up to that wonderful nature shot that I liked on Flickr so much. Felt like I was walking with them through the various areas on their way to Riften ... and interesting that Edrelle does not want to cut all ties with the Guild and wants to be part of it, even though not leading it. Leadership would certainly tie her down, no doubt about it.
This, by the way, is a great shot of Riften: https://flic.kr/p/pyVtyf really liked the perspective there.
So you *just know* that someone was watching them, Honey Stripes doesn't seem the type to jump at shadows ... although of course if someone is nearly as talented as her it is hard to say. Still it makes me wonder who, if anyone (or anything) is watching them. Wonderful story and shots Alexi, thank you for sharing - and I will be watching to see how things go for them at the Guild.
PS - It is also nice she scares of the wolves instead of fighting them. Grim says thank you very much for that
Happy you found the opening of the tale so warm, that you liked the mood of those early moments. Good to hear "bounding" was the right word to describe those steps of Dorthe, she is quite the energetic one that child.
Hehe, there is quite the contrast between Dorthe and that Whiterun guard. Sure does seem a bit of a monotonous and tiring patrol, carrying the weight of that armour under the rays of that sun. Edrelle sure is glad that her profession calls for her outfit to be light when she sees those guards walking about in that armour
Glad you liked those descriptions of the flutter of wings and that sea of grasses leading up to that mountain view. I am doing things right if you felt as if tagging along with them in those different places. She does see the different connections of the guild as something she may not want to lose when she has some questions that need answering. Having to make the decisions of the guild would tie her down more than she wants to be for sure.
Always like those steps up to the keep flanked by those aspen and in trying to capture the shadows cast by the group I ended up with that perspective.
Indeed it is quite certain that someone watched their steps, you are right that Honey Stripes is not one to jump at shadows and did keep alert after that, would need to be someone skilled to seem like a trick of the senses. Glad it leaves you pondering a little about who or what might want to watch them at a distance, wanted that touch of mystery. Thank you for sharing your thoughts about the story, Jonathan - that sure is a question on the group's mind, how things will go at the guild.
Edrelle is not one to harm those of the wilds when she does not need to, she appreciates Grim's thanks and wished him well
Lovely tale as always my friend.
Really glad you found this a lovely chapter, Derek
