Although she has more class and power then he does.
I expect there could be some conflict as Hircine and Molag Bal do not get along (in Grim's world at least; TES lore says his main enemy is Ebonarm which seems very odd to me as Ebonarm is a warrior but I couldn't find anything online that explains why they are enemies) and is especially an enemy of Grim who follows Hircine, Fenrir, and Arkay.
Any battle would have a lot to do with conditions at the time and the location as well - Away from nature (like a dungeon) Grim tends to get depressed easily and would be easier prey. But in the forest he is almost impossibly cheerful and happy - enough to probably make Despair puke her brains out.
Perhaps we can talk later as I do have some tentative plans to mention her again
Gotta give Molag Bal this ; he does have some good taste....for his 'helpers' XD
I would not have a problem believing that Hircine and Molag Bal having any kind of conflict. ( Never saw anywhere were Werewolves (or beast) and vampires got along ...) I never saw anything about why those two are enemies either. There is plenty on Molag's hatred toward Arkay's work ( well more like jealousy ) and the big fight between him and Boethiah.
The actual choice of battlefield would have much to play on who would have the advantage. Though she's a cunning one and could exploit other weaknesses if the field of battle is not quite in her advantages. ( Oh now that's a really pretty mental image there....Despair puking her brain out because she's having an overdose of Grim's happiness lol. Can't stop laughing....last thing Despair would need there is Sannedia to be present and wanting to decorate her horns with pink ribbons ! )

Jokes aside, been wondering who she is! I hope none of my characters will be driven to such despair to kill themselves just yet, my miserable one is barely starting to recover!
Well i guess its a good thing i posted this little back story ! Help those who have no idea who she actually is ! :-). I'll make sure to keep her on a leash and away from your characters while they recover
I already feel sorry for all the characters she's stalking ( alright i'm not feeling for sorry for my own characters lol..)
Apparently she is one of Molag Bal greatest creations, a real jewel, so cruel, so sadistic, it is like he made her after his own image... and as her master Despair has cunning mind and certain creativity, even if in gruesome manners. She intrigued me in her so appearances earlier, a greater and dark force to be reckoned with... as she showed it in her guest appearance of Grim's tales... I shudder to think what her twisted mind has thought for Sigyn... nothing good, that is for sure.
Reading about her career without failures, I now wish for some hero to appear and withstand her influence... I wonder how Despair will take that or her master, who is not known to tolerate failure? But so far she had won and what will b in the future remains to be seen...

I did wanted her to look dangerous but also appealing. Once again , in away, a mix of the Beauty and the Beast. Beautiful (Or handsome..since she can change gender) only to be able to lure prey more easily. What lies beneath that pretty exterior is pure cruelty,malice and savagery.
I supose in some way, he did created her as close to his own image. But then what best way to have the best of servant, then to have one that probably think just the same you do ...She is not one you want to mess with unless you have some major skills to back you up. So far she have not failed her master...but perhaps the failure she would of had..she used her cunning to turned them into a victory ...therefor escaping the wrath of her master that does not tolerate failure.
Perhaps your wish will come true and a strong willed hero will be able to beat her. But that remains to be seen.
