Now the non-entities, the "average" mortals are disposable, just like the red-shirts are on Star Trek (not sure if any older folks will get that one). Faolin is not average and hence has a high amusement factor. That does not mean he is safe by any means ... Princes love tormenting mortals and then killing them in the end when done with them, often taking their soul in the process. However I think Boethia is very well aware that Faolin has a great deal of entertainment value left. I also highly doubt he is truly free of her - she may have removed the leash but the collar is still on his neck. She is going to sick back, eat her popcorn, and enjoy the show.
Wonderful story and I for one enjoyed all the text. I love images but with a lot of text you actually have time to really sink into the story. I do not follow stories on Nexus because I want to just skim through them - I really enjoy getting into a good story and you write good stories. This was a nice meaty chapter with some great depth to it.
I like both characters although I agree with Nataly - Faolin is really not a nice person. Nice people don't casually kill like that (well perhaps if he was really an imperial then I suppose he might have some cause). On the other hand your skill with the characters is such that even with such a deed it is hard to not feel bad for the guy for what he is going through with his sister. That is good writing - having a character that can be a bastard yet still rooting for him ... reminds me a lot of how I felt about Rathe from Jess's stories.
Anyhow enough compliments for one night Think you can tell I enjoyed the story and images.
Love the analogy there. Yes indeed, the red-shirt were very disposable ( I got that reference and i never even watched Star Trek ! /flex ) But i'm getting side tracked ! Faolin is def not out of trouble. As you mentioned, Boethiah removed the leash but not the collar and right now she's just sitting back and eating some popcorn while watching the show. I suspect eventually She'll be joined by her great buddy Molag to watch the same show...except they aren't gonna be rooting for the same team.
Thank you I'm glad you believe my stories are good. I am trying to flesh out my stories a little more, have more text. Not always easy with the entire process i go through before posting... ( the whole translating it in English and stuff). It's a rather tedious process but that's the kind of encouragement that makes all that work worth it in the end !
Faolin is not a nice guy but neither is he a full out villain. I suppose he could somewhat be classified as the ''anti-hero'' type of characters. He commit cold-blooded murder if he haves to, but he doesn't feel any pleasure from the act of killing in itself. He went through alot along Sigyn ...but that's never an excuse to commit murder. As likable as he may be even if he's a total bastard ( well maybe not a complete one), Karma gonna come and bite him on the butt sooner or later.
But that will be later on next chapters are gonna be focusing on Nadja
Thank you so much for your comment and feedback dear ! I'm really glad you enjoyed the story and the shots !!! Yes enough compliments for tonight or i'm gonna turn crimson and melt into a small puddle of shyness !
Thank you my friend ! I'm really happy you enjoyed this chapter !
I admit I was very intrigued of how Falion took that whole thing with fighting his own sister and what his thoughts and motives are. Now we know it... however even despite his thoughts of not delivering a fatal blow and leaving Sigyn, he was acting quite hypocritical, since her comrades might have found Sigyn too late, she could have died from infection... There are too many "ifs" to be absolutely sure she will survive, which did not give me additional sympathy for his misdeed...
Considering Falion and Boethiah, it was very intense scenes! honestly, I don't get why people even worship her in the first place... I mean, Sanguine sure gives his followers a good time, Sheogorath aside from madness can also give inspiration in arts and Azura seem to be at least concerned for her followers, plus they get prophetic visions from her... I can even understand why some cruel people serve Molag Bal, after all he can make his followers vampires with additional powers for females if they will offer themselves to him and become Daughters of Coldharbor, if they survive of course... for those violent and kinky it might be even tempting but Boethiah... she treats her followers like easily disposable crap and cares nothing except her own amusement. The situation with Falion only showed it again and I seriously doubt he should continue his work for her. Too bad though that he did not get the meaning of Boethiah's words about Molag Bal and his hound, although his head was filled with other thoughts and the warning was too vague to understand anyway...
Yet there is still feelings in his heart for Sigyn since he came to check out on her... too bad for one guard, but i guess being an assassin made him disregard the lives of others. I actually chuckled at his reaction of seeing Ulfric and Sigyn, it was typical older brother feelings... too bad that happy times when they were together are long ago gone and probably there won't be a return to those times, yet life can be unpredictable. But right now Falion has broken his sister heart and if she would fall prey to Despair it would also be on his conscience too...
Thank you very much for sharing your wonderful work and I look forward for continuation!
He surely did not enjoy any bit of fighting his own sister, let alone having to stab her and leave her in the snow like he did. His assassin discipline the only reason he was able to abstract himself from his emotions in favor of the strike. Might of been hypocritical of him considering all the what ifs that could of occurred, he did not really want to leave her side..he just had to.
Molag Bal shows more concern for his followers then Boethiah's does even if he's a cruel master himself. She indeed treats her followers as disposable garbage that she keeps around so long as it amuses her or serve some of her dark purpose, her champions being no exeption to this. And of course being a Daedric Prince, she surely was not gonna take too kindly to his insolence. I think Faolin was quickly reminded just how disposable he was to her...and that playing with fire as he did was a....terrible idea. He got lucky she found his little 'rebellion' amusing.
Him ignoring Boethiah's warning about Molag Bal and his 'hound' because he had other things in mind is only gonna play in favor of one person ; Despair. Depending on how i really feel (lol ) Despair could ''kill 2 birds with one stone'' straight off.
He never stopped caring for Sigyn, unlike her who've been hating him while denying the fact she still care somewhat for him. Not that i'd say that he disregard the lives of others entirely, but at some point to him the end justify the means. I couldn't let go such a wonderfull opportunity to have him have such a reaction, to fun to pass on!
Faolin doesn't know yet he have thrown Sigyn into Despairs hand..and perhaps doesn't even know that Despair might get her hands on him!
thanks again Nataly !
Great chapter Liadys, loved the 'almost' meeting between them, and the Boethiah segment was very well done.
Thank you my friend ! i'm glad you enjoyed this chapter !
Who knows what their future holds, I have at least 2 or 3 major plot lines that could take it to two different extremes. I just haven't decided which one i'll be going for..yet..
Thank you kindly for your comment my dear !!
