About this image

Please read:

For the past 5 years, the immensely talented artist and storyteller, Marco, otherwise known as Amnis, has shared many of great characters with the Nexus community. Among the greatest of all of his creations stands Julia. This is a tribute to both Amnis, and his legendary character, Julia.

The story takes place in a small village near the rebuilt town of Kvatch, one year after the passing of the revered warrior and honorable Countess of Skingrad, Julia Amnis.

Son: Father…

Father: Yes?

Son: Mother sent me here to fetch you and take you home.

Father: She did?

Son: Yes. She says that you have spent all day at the forge and that you need to come home.

Father: I suppose your mother is right, my son.

Son: Mother is always right, father.

Father: Hahaha! You learn quickly my son! Just give me a moment to put away my tools and we will head home.

Son: Okay.

Son: Father?….I was….wondering….

The father sits on the steps that lead to the forge.

Father: Go ahead, boy. Speak your mind. What is it?

Son: You have created many weapons for countless warriors over the years, am I right?

Father: That is true, my son. For many years now.

Son: So that means that you have met many great warriors…

Father: Aye. Yes, it does. Go on…

Son: Out of all the warriors that you have met over the years, who was the greatest?

Father: Hmmm. Many come to mind, but one stands out above all the rest.

Son: Wow! He must have been mighty indeed!

Father: He…? No, my son. I am thinking of a woman.

Son: A woman?

Father: Yes my son, a woman!

Son: ….

Father: Hear these words and remember them, my son. The strength of people’s spirit is not limited to his or her gender. As a matter of fact, it is the women of our lands that seem to possess an unconquerable spirit. Far more than any of the men, anyway. If you don’t believe me, just look at your own mother!

Son: I understand, father. And as far as mother’s spirit is concerned, I fully agree!

Father: Haha! Again, you learn quickly, my son.

Son: What was her name?

Father: Julia.

Son: What a beautiful name.

Father: Aye. She was a beautiful woman!

Son: What did she do? Did she slay a lot of bandits?

Father: Hahaha! She could if she wanted, but she had much loftier goals, my son.

Son: Really?

Father: Yes. Do you remember the stories that I told you not long ago about how the spawn of Oblivion poured out from their diabolical portals and stepped foot upon our own world? And when they did, they were armed with the most insidious of weaponry and with the foul thoughts of death and annihilation squarely affixed upon their minds.

Son: I remember…

Father: During that time, I was about your age, and working as an apprentice blacksmith under my father. Julia had not only managed to seal the portal which brought the daedra to the town of Kvatch, but also managed to slay all of the stray daedra that attacked our nearby village as well! If it weren’t for the valiant actions of the warrior, Julia Amnis, my mother, my father, my sisters, and me all would have undoubtedly fallen to the daedra. Soon after she had saved our village and it’s people from certain destruction, she came to my father’s forge in need of repairs to her armor. I remember to this day, looking upon her armor. It was mangled from the wicked claws of the daedra, and it reeked of the foul stench of burnt sulfur, which assaulted my sense of smell.

Son: Hmmm. That also means that if it weren’t for her actions years ago, I would have never been born….

Father: Correct.

Son: Father…

Father: Yes, my son?

Son: I am very thankful for her actions.

Father: I am too. Rest assured, many people are, and they will remain so until they have drawn their final breath.

Son: Just how skilled was Julia? Was she physically strong? Was she nimble like a cat?

Father: She was skilled enough. She wasn’t the strongest warrior. There were many male warriors and even some female warriors who were stronger. She moved fairly well while wearing her armor, but there were others that seemed to be more fleet of foot, my son.

Son: If she wasn’t the fastest or the strongest, what trait made her so great, father?

Father: Hmmm. When talking about the strengths of the great warrior, Julia Amnis, many essential traits come to mind. However, most importantly, the one that springs to mind first and foremost, is the trait of…selflessness.

Son: Selflessness?

Father: Yes. Do you know what that word means?

Son: Yes, I believe I do. Doesn’t mean that you put others before you?

Father: Precisely. And in Julia’s profession, if you continue to remain selfless, in time, you will become…heroic.

Much like his great creation, Julia Amnis, Marco is selfless. He is quick to offer help to those who simply ask, he also continues to inspire other screenshooters with his enthralling works and encouraging comments, thus helping many of them reach their own potential.

Happy Birthday, my friend!

This is a great dedication story, image, and music for your good friend Amnis, who just happens to be quite the excellent screen archer from what I've seen in the past. :-)

I salute your selflessness, Bison! Only know Amnis' screenshots, not the person behind them, so it's a great background you've provided here.
