I see I missed quite the story.... great shots and very interesting plot line......... oh when is Fleur going to wake up or maybe when is Rathe going to wake up and move on with his life.... this is never going to work....... she holds to much inside to ever get over what happened to her... pity.... I jused to wish so that she would remember what she had started to feel and now i hope she forgets it ......... could they ever be happy........ not really ....... to many things in their way ...... and that sister of his..... so now she plans on getting to Rathe though Fleur...... take away the thing that means the most ....... scary thought but I would not want to be her if she does happen to do something to Fleur...... be a bad day ..............
You are so good as to cause depression, then I finish the story, and I see your advertising of my much meager works, and it really moved me. It's not a good time for me, I thank you heartily.
The horse reunion was great and I was actually holding my breath as I read, waiting for that crossbolt to come out and shoot the horse while they stood there in a peaceful moment. So far it hasn't come. Glad the horses at least know how to get along with each other, even if the children do not.
Interesting that Rathe suspects Darius ... perhaps Darius is not as simple was many of us think. Rathe tends to have a good instinct for these things so maybe that is a hint. I am still not sure why he listens to Astrid but I suppose that is what makes people human - their torture over emotions - wanting to help Fleur even though she snaps at him as a reward. Without her he could be save in Cyrodiil. Can't go there now as he would be tormented by what-ifs.
Doomed if he does doomed if he doesn't. Clearly Astrid is up to no good, but then she never was. Guess we have to wait and see how it all unfolds. Another fantastic chapter Jess!
As for torturing Rathe and Fleur, ah well that's a lot easier to write (yes I'm twisted)! ZuZu has plans... Far deeper than simply killing Rathe's horse. And yes, her ideas behind what happened to her and mislaying the blame just shows how far she's sunk in her madness. It was kinda creepy 'shooting' her as she kept pulling all these sinister expressions and looking evil. I think I'm a little afraid of her!!
Darius. Poor, misunderstood Darius. Or is he?
But yes, you're spot on with doomed if he does, doomed if he doesn't. Perfect description. Thanks my sweet!
Rathe - he is awesome and one of my favorite characters. I was thinking about assassins this morning while walking Grim and thought of three main groups for them.1 is the "good" ones often employed by a kingdom or government (good being totally relative of course, not to mention I am thinking of a basically good kingdom versus an evil one) to take down key targets that threaten the home country or people. I see these are the more romanticized version of assassins. Perhaps how Fleur sees it - as a way to take down evil people.
2 are the paid assassins, which is where I see Rathe. Not evil or good, just they do a job. They often have some morals (i.e. won't kill children or nuns) but overall it is a job. They may take pride in a job well done but don't enjoy killing or get pleasure out of people's pain and agony.
3 is the evil type who kill not just for money but because they get a sadistic pleasure out of it. They truly enjoy watching people die and suffer and get a lot of pleasure from the process. I see many of the DB in this group. Often this group also worships a death cult.
Strangely I actually found Astrid the more likable of the DB as she was pushing away from the religion aspect and doing it more of a job, although I know her lore states she gets some pleasure and enjoyment out of it.
Anyhow really enjoyed the story and I know how you feel about Zuzu ... sometimes characters take on a life of their own and you think ... what if I ever fall under THEIR control O.o
So we know that evil b*tch is watching and plotting, we get a quick glimpse of Rathe's "kind" side as he reunites with his beloved steed. At last he tells Fleur that it's not about the Dark Brotherhood, it's not about his Sister, and honestly tells Fleur that it's about her and he gets "slapped" for it!
Auuuuuuugggggghhhhhhh!!!!!! These two are killing me!!!!
Brilliant work dear!!!
Oh yes there's definitely a lot of 'toying' going on with poor Rathe right now; Astrid, ZuZu, Darius and even Fleur are all taking their turn at messing with the Shadow-Walker. How easy it was for him when he was a solo agent chasing down the Albino? Sometimes I wonder if he'd bring the Albino back if things could go back that way; the never-ending chase...
Thanks for you lovely words as always dear one!
Hmmm....I wonder if love is in the air for those horses? Is Princess still in heat? She might get pregnant with a little colt by Sicarius....^^
Fleur's very first "hit" seems quite a bit of the "advanced" variety....very suspicious indeed, to hand such a serious job, potentially fraught with many unknown, unforeseen, or perhaps even...."pre-arranged" difficulties, to a freaking NOVICE....is this Adulterous Astrid's indirect but nonetheless cruel way of getting-back at Rathe??
Has she been taking "ZuZu-101 Lessons" ??^^
I liked Rathe and Fleur's latest, intriguing little talk, "evil b*tches" referring to the two obvious ones....AND Darius! LMAO!
The fact that Rathe actually called him that insult clearly shows that he suspects Darius as being either just plain deviously letcherous, simply wanting to slither into Fleur's pants^^....and/or perhaps even being SOMEONE'S little...um..."toady".... ^^
Rathe IS correct about Fleur being vulnerable, but also, despite her horrific ordeal, she's STILL dangerously-naïve and far too trusting of others....and far too UN-trusting of ONE demonstrably very good man in particular....^^
Endorsed. Thanks for another wonderfully-intriguing chapter, Jess, and cheers, dear!
It really IS an advanced 'hit' for Fleur's first isn't it? Perhaps it's because she's got a superstar 'sponsor' to guide her through? Or... some more devious motive...
Thought you'd like Darius being referred to as a bitch. It was either that or PUNK but b&@*$ just worked in the context so well! But yeah, Mr Broody sure has his eye on the 'boy'. Sometimes so innocent and vulnerable... sometimes... not.
If only Fleur would open her eyes and see. Interesting that you refer to Rathe as a very good man. I wonder if he himself would agree with you?
Cheers hon!
