My padded fur boots passed through the tall grass with a loud crunch. I froze and the elk lifted his head to inspect his environment. I had been tracking this giant down the river for a couple of hours, waiting to pull off the perfect shot. Fate had been kind to me today, and the elk went back to chewing away at the forest floor.
