If anyone is pondering why I'm pitting my ENB preset against RealVision ENB, it's simply because RV is the highest endorsed ENB on Nexus, thus a valid target for comparison. Nothing personal or sinister, I assure you.
Realism, as defined by style, is not something that can be easily pulled off in Skyrim. Period. Due to the limitations of the game engine/graphics engine, and the general limitations of ENBs/SweetFX in general. Wanako's very own ENB that he is close to completing, is very close to what can be considered "realistic" in terms of lighitng/conditions. Realism isn't what's important though, and is a pipe-dream to attempt due to the game's unstable/broken engine. But it's the quality of lighting that is most important. Your shaders, your interior/exterior lighting, skybox, volumetric light rays, procedural sun effect, custom weathers, etc... are far more important in determining the quality of your ENB. Not how, "real" something is. It is in my personal opinion, that all the allegedly "realistic" ENBs on Nexus are weak, low contrast, and generally flat-looking.
I for one prefer the Grim Winter series of ENBs, for the quality of most lighting conditions. It's a very surreal preset, so for me, it is more immersive in a fantasy RPG. Of which, last I checked, The Elder Scrolls series belongs in. So if I were to use your screenshots as a base for comparison, I would prefer RV over your own preset. Even though I personally don't care for RV.
Thank you for the comparison and the links though! I'll be downloading RV, right away!
