i was trying to get the leaves to look right in tizona's crossguard when i saw this sword, i loved it so i made it, highpoly with material here. I really think i have to start putting things in order and finish a sword before starting another one...
Don't forget about it, that helmet is beautiful Anyway, if you found some difficult with the weight painting, remember that with 3ds Max you can use the Skin Wrap modifier to copy the weight paint and the rigging from another helmet...
Wow, thats some render FF. The materials look sweet!
how did you get the leather to look so plush? It's not 'like' the wraps you see on swords in RL, it IS the wraps you see on swords in RL. I think I can see the individual fibres from here
i didnt do anything special, the model is just this: http://www.mediafire.com/view/ja7b8vbi6jb6xct/grips.jpg and then applied a leather material i downloaded with a high res leather texture, it looked very good in my opinion hehe. in that image there are also 3 other grips i've made, some people said tizona's one was a bit weird and i think that too so i'll probably remake it, what do you think?
I think you did do something special mate, you put a lot of care and skill into it. It does look very good and more then the sum of it's parts imo
I'd go with the original Tizona handle, leather but fine metal strand wound around it. I think it will turn out awesome, not weird at all.
Imo, when people tell you your designs look weird, you can't do it that way, it doesn't look right, bloody lore, lore, lore, it wasn't that way in Morrowind, you need to consider what they say with a fair and objective mind. Then tell them all to go to hell.
the templar sword will come first as it's almost done, just have to adjust the textures for skyrim, then tizona or this one as i've detailed a lot more the highpoly or one of the weapons i've already made lowpoly and uv mapped(the mace, that typical medieval sword and the 15th century longsword) then the rest.

Great work Frank
P.S. Any news about the helmet?
