What's this?? A woman who's actually immune to Leif's charms?
Leif was clearly thinking with that "other" head of his, and this time, he gets burned! LOL!

His rather arrogant and insulting disposition towards that poor monk, who has clearly had some SERIOUS pain, loss and tragedy in her life, was rather disappointing, but he didn't seem to care about any of that....
"Not like I asked her out..." Yeah right....like he WASN'T mentally undressing her, at first.... ^^

I loved all of the conversations, discussions, pontifications^^ and especially how Fae finally snapped all those thu'um-eggheads out of their collective stupor, reminding them that mere mortals actually DO need warmth, food and rest after a loooong day and night in the freezing, alpine cold.
Endorsed. Warm thanks and Happy Birthday Jess! Cheers, dear!

Yeah I'm finding Leif more and more obnoxious as I write him but it's fun to have a main character based on the sort that I usually only write to get beaten up by a cool dude like Rathe! Bit also, he does have a good heart despite the arrogance and brashness, but he does have a lot of growing up to do and I think it's obvious who's going to help him do this!!

Thanks for your ongoing support and sweet comments my dear! Hugs to you!

What an entertaining chapter, jess! Love the banter! It is always a pleasure to see what words come out of Leif's mouth next. XD

Ah, so it's not just "Graybeards" up there! Very interesting!
Love Leif's almost simpleminded contrast to them!
    Great chapter!

Hehehe, nice observation sweetie! I hadn't realised how he contrasted to the "deep and wise" Greybeards till you mentioned it!!

Well Leif seems a bit shallow sometimes, he seems like if woman don't auto go for his banter, he dismisses them as unworthy or that it their short coming, he is so used to be in the one woman flock too, think this time he is in for a very big surprize maybe the making of him. It is always fun to see what another person take is on that first quest for the Dragonborn. I think there are some huge changes coming in Leif life very soon should be interesting what part the woman will play , great shots and story jess

Thanks hon!! Yeah, he's a typical jock and has a lot of growing up to do... and I think he's about to do it in a big hurry during this quest. Glad you're enjoying the tale dear!

Nicely written once again, I really like how you describe the events that take place with the Greybeards. I also fine that Leif's "charm" can hinder him if he doesn't learn to keep it in check during some moments when it is better to do nothing, or say nothing... He seems like a great guy sure, but I really do think he could get himself into trouble...

Oh definitely!! Wolfgrimdark described him as a jock; loud, arrogant, overbearing... and with a mouth and attitude that's SURE to get him in trouble! But isn't it fun to watch? Hehe, cheers hon!

Really like how you described Arngeir, he does always seem to have that gleam of wisdom in his eyes and that subtle sense of humor among his serious words. Of course Faendal was a bit jealous of his brother getting all the attention with those questions and that test of his shout but it was interesting how there was also pride among those feelings as well, shows how much he cares for his brother. Curious that the revelation Leif was a mage gave Arngeir thoughts that he did not share and that they were so surprise he had elven blood, seem Leif is not quite what they were expecting the dragonborn to be. I like how the Greybeard's welcome for Faendal made him feel more involved in the path of his brother, in their adventure. Seems Leif has met a woman that he cannot charm, I hope she teaches him a few things about respect for women, his insulting words filling that hall. She is very intriguing witht he sadness they saw in her eyes and I wonder what role she will play ^^

Thanks dear! I'm glad you noticed Arngeir's slight hesitation when he learned at Leif was part Elven. A subtle moment that may have been but important in the grand plot. Trust you to be so observant dear one! As for Leif 'learning his lesson', well, you know I'm a sucker for angst so he'd better not get too mouthy with this poor gal!
