About this image

Like fiddy graphics mods went into this. Currently running a version with no grain (I liked it at the time but I changed my mind). What do you think? does the grain add something or just make it look tacky?

Grain, like letterboxes and DoF, is highly subjective. For myself I like it for certain types of images and game play. I think it can add a very cool gritty feel to things. When a grain is used for a DoF it can really help make the object in focus POP like crazy. It also can add a moody cinematic feel. People tend to prefer it for screenshots I think but it can also add a cool old style game play feel. Luckily it is easy to enable/disable in-game (if the creator added the gui controls) so prety flexible.

In this shot I say it works awesome. It helps give the image a very subtle surreal painting feel to it that I find accentuates the look instead of detracting from it (as grain reduces the sharpness and clarity). Because it is a landscape shot the clarity is less important - here the grain gives it a nice subtle texture.

Anyhow nice image I like it.
