an half mask... maybe a face of an animal...could be combined with different hoods without clipping

  Fur hood with bone plates sond good to me, but also the suggestion of Johngoku can fit the armor.
  What you think about add some bone plates to only one of the boots to give a more asymmetrical look?

Definitely a hood. Ideally with bone accents that tie into the spinal column on the armor.

I like the pauldron and hip guard, even how the boots are kinda layered with leather, but not the fur around its knees.

JohnGoku's suggestion looks like it would go perfect with the set, could even incorporate the bones with it
