Cut and carved long ago, it is a focus point, a gathering place, but it is so much more.

To a certain few, it calls. Whispering through the halls that contain it until the desired and chosen near. Then the whisper is no more, a chant of ancient voice rises and something stirs within the stone.

When the Dragonborn comes, the wall welcomes them to share it's secrets, and lets them taste it's knowledge.
