    Om a side note: I want to make this lass a standalone follower (first for my use in a story) then to release to all for enjoyment. However, there's a black hole in my brain when it comes to modding and I'd appreciate any pointers, help (offers to do it ) that people can throw my way!!

      I had that hesitation about starting the process too but when you get started it goes well and zzjay's tutorial is user friendly as Innova said
