"The scout and the huntress are a most lovely of pairs aren't' they" - couldn't say it better then Ma'Kriiva, she is very perceptive and it is really wonderful that Akhaz'iir's sister approves his relationship with Aela as well. Their visit to the inn was an amusing, given the behavior of one drunken customer with Ma'Kriiva witty and amusing remark about finding a man and I loved that tender moment between Aela and Akhaz'iir , which was perfectly depicted on the shot, such lovely, romantic cozy scene in every way... I am looking forward to see more of their adventures!
Thank you very much for sharing your wonderful work!
That Ma'Kriiva did say exactly what Dar'Akshara was thinking, I am sure she sensed those thoughts, the scout's sister does see the warmth in his eyes for Aela and she is happy for him even if they are different sorts. I a happy their time among that warmth of the inn was amusing, they did need those moments to just have a laugh to lose that tention, Ma'Kriiva of course was a source of those laughs with those words to the drunk. Warms my heart that you like the tender moment between huntress and scout among the cozy furs of that bed, sharing those warm words... Those bubbling lands ahead do await in that approaching morning light ^^
Thank you so much for your wonderful insights, Nataly
I take it Aela does know about Khajiit anatomy (barbed bits) !
I am not sure khajiit share that little bit of anotomy with the big cats of skyrim :p
As always the adventures of your merry band are really engaging - and it's always good to feel the connection and attachment to the characters I read about.
That description of the bandits, freezing in the harsh weather, scouting the fort's surroundings, was so atmospheric! Good our heroes avoided the fight that time, after that all dungeon crawling (in Dwemer dungeon, no less! ) it would be simply too much for them.
It was nice to read that little insight to Aela's thoughts, that child of the wilds was always one of my favourites companions. And that warm feelings she has for that certain "scout"... it was so subtle and simply pleasant to read.
Again your descriptions amazed me - that strange, unusual silence that made the group uneasy, the Talos statue observing them with dead eyes... I felt the shivers, dear!
"The scout and the huntress are a most lovely of pairs arent' they" - oh, Ma'Kriiva, you're sooo right!
I enjoyed reading about the encounter with a bear - so realistic, I really can imagine the beast being irritated at the bunch of tiny creatures interrupting its slow daily routine and then walking away at the sight of sharp steel
And then a tavern, with that warmth they had been waiting for, the soft, welcoming lights and quiet promise of ale and warm bed. The short banter with the drunken man was funny and - again - realistic. There must be a drunk in an inn, right?
The ending... so cute, so heartwarming, I would squee if I wasn't too old for this
Amazing job, as always, sweetheart!
I am very glad those adventures of theirs make you feel that connection with them, in their struggles and their merry moments, your tales of Saga are engaging in much the same way.
Those bandits would have certainly preferred being inside the for with a tankard of ale that day, not sure how effective they were at scouting while trying to keep warm. They were quite tired of battle indeed after being in that gloom, finding one with bandits would not have been wise.
I do like to show Aela's thoughts from time to time, a glimpse at those memories she holds dear, she is my favorite of the companions as well that huntress. From the beginning of their adventures together I always liked writing those subtle hints of warm feelings between them.
There was something about that forest that inspired to write about that silence, it was indeed unsettling, as if something weighed down on them as they walked near that statue - great to hear you felt those same shivers that they felt.
That Ma'Kriiva is not afraid to say what she thinks, Dar'Akshara certainly agrees with you about her words
They are quite the ornery beast those bears but they are not unwise, he is sure to have seen that gleam before as other odd creature passes and remembered past scars and in that battle of stares with the scout that bear backed down
That warmth seemed all the more comforting and the food all the more delicious after all that adventure. Ma'Kriiva sets off a dialogue that goes something like that so I made my interpretation of it for the tale, I am really glad you found it funny and that it felt real. Drunks are an important part of the inn experience in Skyrim indeed
Could not resist having the installment end with a little tender moment between those two
Thanks a bunch for sharing your thoughts about the tale as ever, dear Kayol ^_^
