Alisa's Journal - five, page ten.

I've spent five years wandering the ruins left behind by the Dwemer, it is only now that I have truly started to appreciate the work that they it into their homes and halls.

The workshops still function, even without their masters, the mechanical constructs still roam and guard the corridors and rooms from intruders. Protecting secrets, or just the memory of the people that once lived amongst the steam and stone.

They had so much to teach us, but all we are left with is scraps and remnants of what once was, which is where people like myself enter the picture. We study, we inspect, we explore in the hopes of salvaging the past.

Maybe someday, what we found will save our future...
