It sure doesn't look good for the Albino, and rightfully so, too! XD

OMG, how you just smashed the "Mouhahahahaha! factor" right through the roof here!
Good battle-teamwork again, and more clever tactics from Fleur, as well as Rathe, turning their own internal "anti-intruder" flaming-oil booby traps against them!
    "Hoisted with their own petard!"
Fleur's simple, plain-jane crossbow, however, is in serious need of powerful enchanting, as it is clearly inadequate against some of the more powerful types of enemies, such as vampires.

I'd definately recommend Rathe indeed go all "Vlad Tepes" on the Albino's pale, wrinkled old carcass, but ONLY after the scumbag reveals Regan's whereabouts and/or fate!
-Rathe: "Remember when I said I'd let you go? I lied."
-Albino: "Aaaaaahhhhh!" (proceeds to die slowly, agonizingly and with great and brutal sadism involved....)
-Fleur: (tries desperately to keep her last meal IN her roiling, churning stomach, instead of all over the floor....)

The Albino's choices are very simple: does he want to die quick or slow?
    Instant endorsemant!
Many kind thanks for this way-cool series, Jess. Cheers, dear!

    Oh dear!

    Finally they meet the bastard.
I'm getting upset that the Albino barely remembers him and Regan(Not to mention that I am fearing for a theory that's unravelling itself inside my head for what have happened to her! ), that have haunted him since he was, what? 16ish?

I'm gonna be tripping around on my toes until the next chapter.
    Oh my oh my. Splendid!

I hope he cuts him up in little pieces.. oh sorry I know a bit bloody but oh that man so deserves to die a slow painful death to have taken Rathe family, his life, his sister, and his sanity at times and not even remember, how sad and how must it have made poor Rathe feel to know the anger at that loss was not even a fleeting memory for the man at his feet, the only thing I feel sorry for is that Fleur will have to watch and and I do so hope she can forgive what she see's and knows finally Rathe will have his payback.. I wonder maybe Fleur would like to learn magic she seemed very interested in the Vampire's powers???

Wonderful shot and as always a powerful story behind them , wonderful chapter jess...!! I cant wait for the next!!

I really liked that glimpse of Fleur's thoughts as the sounds drifting down the hall remind her of the ancient ruins, the hiss of steam waking memories. The way Rathe analyses his foes with a glance is so interesting, the way he picks up on the small details of those workers. Fleur is so good at finding solutions to unusual problems, sending that vampire falling into the fire by piercing that vat with a bolt, she is very sly. The battle against the vampire and her hound was quite intense with her throwing about those spells at them, catching Fleur with the sting of frost, her comment afterwards was amusing, her keen mind is more of a weapon for her. Seem that Albino has woken such darkness in Rathe, nearly killing him before he even answered the question, worrying Fleur with his coldness, I wonder if she will get through to him in that dark state. Beautifully done once again, my friend

Oh, wow, it was purely epic episode, excellently written and filled with incredible tension! The battles in Redwater den were intense, I loved how Fleur once again using her wit, managed to dispose of the vampire they have encountered, while Rathe once again showed his unparalleled battle skills. Sad that Fleur was hit with frost sell, but she should never think of herself as a liability, Rathe sure doesn't look at her this way and I loved that smile he granted her for her concern about his wellbeing.
And that scene with Albino... That what we all waited for and it was very impressive and intense! Rathe had thought about perfect way to dispose of vampire there and his confrontation sure was a bloody one! I've thought that insidious Albino put a better fight, but as I've thought he is a coward, can't fight with someone without help, and now he will get what he deserves. Torture is a bad thing in general, but after what he has one with Rathe's life, with Regan I can understand Rathe's motives perfectly. I very much hope that Rathe will learn what has happened with Regan and I hope this new knowledge won't shatter his heart... He should remember that Fleur will always be at his side, ready to help in any way she can. I can't wait to see what will happen next!
Fantastic shots too, very fierce action scenes, great portraits and awesome confrontation.... Superb! Thank you very much for sharing your awesome work!

Thanks Nat, as I've said before, I am a bit worried about publishing the next chapter. What will happen needs to happen in the context of the story but it's pretty full on! Hope y'all can handle it!

(Though I feel pretty squirmy writing it!)
