"I know, I'll clean them before I leave, I just didn't have time after the battle."

Meris stood looking at the weapon in her right hand, one of a pair. Both now covered in the blood of shape shifters from a ruin further north.

"Meris, you can't keep going like this. Battle after battle. It's not right..."

She looked at her friend, and sighed. Her usually fearsome demeanor sliding away to reveal the tired elven woman beneath.

"I know... but I can't wait around for what is 'right' to show itself. We need to get out of here, and if putting myself through all this trouble is the fastest way, then so be it."

With that, she sat down and picked up a rag from the table, wiping down her swords to remove the stains of her recent achievements.

"I just hope it's all worth it."
