About this image
I made this for the final piece of my dragon project, a couple months ago. Dragon sculpture from aluminium wire and chicken wire, and it was only my second time working with wire too :P
The dragon is, clearly, Skyrim-inspired. He has a lovely stabby tail held high like a scorpion too, but you can't see it in this picture. The tail itself is very flexible, very heavy, and can easily be shaped into a different position. His wings have four vanes and each has 'membranes' between, which can be unfolded and extended to almost full wing length, so in theory he could be suspended from the ceiling to mimic flight. I'd prefer not to though as the torso-abdomen join is the weakest part of the sculpture and may go wrong. Also he doesn't look as cool from underneath. There are more images on my Steam account :)
2014 EDIT: As of New Years, Eddie has been mounted onto a wall. Being made of wire, all this really needed was a couple of nails to hang him on. There he sits, clutching onto the wall and leering down at you ominously, as if ready to leap down and eat your face at any moment.
46hr30mins, aluminium wire/chicken wire, Length: 2m+, Weight: ?
