Vailena keeps forgetting there's certain things a vampire isn't really supposed to do. Eating too much cheese, for example, or leaving money under the pillows of the people she feeds from at night ("I pay for my food, thanks very much") and enjoying sunlit walks through forests.

Being of the daywalker variety, Vailena has a stronger tolerance of the sun than Zephron, who prefers to stand on tall towers in the night, staring at the moon broodingly.

With his shirt slightly untied.

And the wind blowing softly through his hair.

All accidently-on-purpose

Vampires need mystique, he reckons, and Vailena hasn't mastered that yet. She's still a fledge in his eyes.

Vailena reckons Zephron is confusing mysteriousness with sulking, and if there was a skill level for that, he'd of capped it by now.
