It sort of looks like dull iron to me - seems appropriate for armor being used heavily out in the wilds rather than polished up by garrison troops. Of course I haven't seen the metallic alternative so that might be good too.
I also have a hard time judging how altering ENBs and the like will affect this.
Some of the designs etched into it look kind of vaguely Dwarven in style.

Think that´s the reason why the warrior on one pictures looks very bored
But is this a DLC armor?
