Although those metal "bars" on the metal-part of the axe seem a bit out of place in my opinion. Just pointing that out in-case it might help you with future re-textures somehow.
Either way I still think it looks amazing and I'm looking forward for the update! =D
I love that you've redone the background texture, it feels more.... ancient I guess, than the precise cross-hatching. And you've darkened the handle? I approve, very much so. ^^
