Hmm, suggestions about color/texture ? Assuming his dragonsfield mod goes live - I'd hope to see (or maybe even create myself) an Automatic Variants patch. That would mean lots of different colors and textures.
Personally, I like the scheme his chosen. Looks really good !
Actually, I'd suggest that you make the base colour a neutral grey, Lighter on the uppers and darker on the belly then add shadows and depth in a darker blue-grey and then "dust " the uppers and flanks with a dirt brown, and some red brown, highlighting very subtly with a medium tan. Add some more "mud" around each lower leg and foot.
