      I actually thought I heard it said on the Nexus that Steam ones are the only 'official' ones, that anything non-Steam is pirated? Mine is Steam and I find Steam quite annoying with all the syncing, the odd occasion when it won't work, ten thousand year long downloads, etc.

      I bought a hard copy and it required me to make a Steam account to play. I'm not sure whether there's a way to avoid that.

      I don't think they are non official, Qess, maybe old hard copies now integrated on steam... and you can always disabled steam cloud to get less boring loadings, that's what I did, or else I would never be able to edit my .ini files and break my game
