About this image

The Centurion swung again for her head, but she managed to duck under the blow and slice at the arm as it moved by with frightening speed. The Centurion's over swung causing its hand to crash into a steam pipe, punching a hole right through the metal.
Thienlin gasped and moved further from the enraged Centurion. How could she defeat such and adversary?
Theinlin shook her head, there was no time to be thinking such things, she had to win. She would win.
The Centurion yanked it hand free and charged towards her, looking to crush her under its weight. Thienlin mustered her courage and dived between the giants legs. As she rolled to her feet she sliced at the Centurion's knee, causing one of the pipes to burst in a cloud of steam.
The Centurion roared and dropped to one knee, bit it was far from defeated. It swung around at her making Thienling duck again, but this time its hand clipped her on the shoulder and sent her into a spin.
Thienlin crashed into the corner with a cry of pain, she could feel that the bone had broken and that she had twisted her knee when she had landed. Desperately she struggled to her feet and fumbled over a spell of healing. She felt the light gush through her body, but it did little to stop the pain and throbbing.
Thienlin continued to back away as the Centurion swung wildly and struggled to its feet. Thankfully she had damaged the things knees enough to slow it down and the Centurion fell to the ground again.
As she back away she noticed a glow from behind the giants chest plate, perhaps it was some form of running gear. She could only hope, for it was the only strategy she had at that moment.
Again she mouthed the words of a spell and as torrent of lightning fell from her fingertips and crashed into the Centurion's chest. It did little damage and the sparks fell of the metal, but the spell had done enough to break away at the gap in the chest plate. It was enough to plunge her sword through.
Gritting her teeth she summoned the courage to charge the giant, but suddenly the Centurion brought for a wave of steam and breathed at her. Theinlin tried to dart to the side but her twisted knee collapsed under her and she fell to the ground as the scorching hot cloud cascaded around her.
In desperation Thienlin cast a weak ward spell and hoped that she would not be steam fried. She could hardly breath as the hot air fell around her and burnt her skin and made her cry out. But the Ward spell had saved her.
Thienlin hobbled to her feet, steam drifting from her burnt skin and clothes. With a quick healing spell cast upon her knee she sprinted forward. The Centurion saw her coming and if its emotionless face could smile it surely did, thinking that Thienlin's attack foolish, Its great arm swung for her chest, but Thinelin slid on her knees under the sweep and pushed herself to her feet, twisting her knee again. But her sword led the way though the cracked chest plate and to shatter the running gear within.
Time froze as she hoped it had worked. A gush of steam erupted around them, blinding her. But as the steam cloud cleared the Centurion had not moved and was frozen ridged. Theinlin staggered from under the Centurion and limped to gather the lost sword, Grimsever. It had nearly killed her but she had accomplished her task.
With a great sigh Thienlin limped from the chamber and onto the lift that would take her back to the surface.
