after a quest done in the college of winterhold, you gain a buff that does a ridiculiously high mana regen, so you can spam all your spells on your companion, and if you have a mod like AFT that allows you to hit them whitout resoponse and not dying, or you can heal them too with a friendly healing spell, you can farm your destruction, healing, conjuration, illusion levels in no time before the buff expires !(it lasts 2 hours).
