    @aamir74

    One of the greybeards gave it to me following the completion of "The Way of the Voice" quest. Name's Arngnir or something...

    The Greybeard boomed, 'Onward, dovahkiin! Onward! Be brave, be vigilant, be the merciless malleus maleficarum of Talos' righteous redemption! My place is here, but you, your place is with the people, and to that end, I grant you the Cuirass of Slivering Darkness, and the Boots of Unremitting Shadows - may they serve you as they have once served me.'

    True story.

    I always knew that the greybeards were kinky old men.

    @newmiller

    They are separate, as seen in my first screenshot, where I used metallic render on the laces. But my idea came from :

    and I wanted to remain true to the original full latex composition, hence why I opted for black latex for the final render.

    Also, why not Blender? I have seen some amazing things made using that software:

    Gallery here

    Mesh is mesh...there's no difference at all between the mesh created in Blender and the one created in 3ds/maya/cinema/etc, otherwise there wouldn't be universal formats in the first place...

    wish I could do such things in blender
    Maybe it will be better if you try to make border/lacers/ rivets(don't sure it is called exactly 'rivets', I'm about that round things that are between main model and lacers) as separated objects with different shader options? Just offering
