Recently vampires have spawned just slightly beyond the main gate in Whiterun. The thick wooden gate even acts as a shield from arrows for the cursed asshole. Which means a more 'direct' attack is required... Thankfully my character's sword did manage to go through the thick wooden gate.

Scratch one vampire!
