Kyirael is cousin to the siblings Valkirya and Kenrahel; son of their father's brother Rhyen . I do not quite remember what his name meant, but I believe it was something like "Red Twilight" in elven. He is always walking with his cousins; it will be a rare sight to see him all alone.

Older than the twins by a few years, he has a more neutral outlook about life and is very diplomatic, usually intervening when Kenrahel's behaviour or gullible Valkirya causes trouble to the trio. Sometimes his flirtatious nature takes the best of him, however, and it will be him the one to put them in trouble.

He was trained as a swordsman, but when he was very young it was discovered that he could wield Spellfire, which is the purest, raw essence of magic in Faerun. He was trained by Zalel (Ken's and Valki's father), who, just like him, was trained as a fighter and later discovered he was a sorcerer. Rhyen blames his son's flirtatious nature on Zalel, who used to be a womanizer before he settled down with Ellenarallieva, his half-fey woman.

When calling forth his Spellfire, he wields it in the shape of an energy whip.
