It just sorta happened. We had just killed a bandit all sneaky like and I camera-ed out and realized now close we were. Gave me chills and now I REALLY want to have him come with a marriage option. Regardless I saved this moment to come back to later.

I asked CoffeeMandibles if he would make Odvar into a marriageable follower, but he told me that he was still learning how. He said that once he figured it out, he would try to. I shall hold him to that.
