Because it looks amazing
1. The claw looking piece at the bottom is actually a fang! When creating it, she sent her servents out to get "The largest claw of the largest dire wolf."
2. The sword was supposedly blessed by one of the Daedric Prince's, which would explain the glowing runes.
3. To trap the souls of those sacrificed by it's blade, a black soul gem was placed into the guard.
4. The script on the blade mentions the Wolf Queen, but that's all I'll say! Mysteries are fun!
This gives me a few evil ideas.....
--Since Queen Potema was a powerful Necromancer, perhaps a few fanged silver wolf and/or vampire-skulls might adorn this sword, say, on and around the guard, for example.
(I love that bone-claw on the pommel!)
--I'd also like to see traditional fullers or blood-gutters running down the middle of the blade, and vicious-looking serrated edges. (After sticking, it's MUCH easier to withdraw a fullered blade from an enemy than an un-fullered one!)
--Those Daedric glyphs, when translated, might read something traditional like this: "Empress Potema Septim carries me." (Even though she actually never was empress, her massive ego would, and did definately pre-suppose that notion for certain!)
--Could the glyphs could be made to glow, in darkness, a soft but deep and vivid crimson red, kinda like in your screenshot?
I'll take a wild guess that it's nastily enchanted with soultrap and possibly life-leech at the very least, right?
Thanks and cheers, Millenia!
