Escaping from a hail of arrows

Running away, guards on my tail as the chase me down. I can hear them yelling for me to stop, to surrender. All I did was try to help that poor man escape the headsman axe. So much went wrong so quickly, the plan didn't even survive contact with the enemy. I had to run as fast as I could, hoping and praying I could escape with my life intact. Running out the gate all of them still hot on my tail. I hear the familiar twang of arrows being unleashed from bows, I run towards a cliff and jump, hoping that the fall won't kill me and that none of the arrows will catch me in the back. As I fall I glance up and see the arrows flying over my head, whew, now to survive the fall.
