   Given the fact that I detect some confusion in the comments I just want to say that the hollow face effect is an optical illusion that happens when you have a mask IRL or I guess in-game, if you look at the inside of it, it wil appear to pop out instead of going inward, basically what Scklyic said. Or just google/bing "hollow face effect" and your sure to get a bunch of images showing the effect IRL.

   It looks like it should if you study it, looks like you are looking at a carved wooden mask from the inside.

   .....The effect is that when you flip a priest mask over and focus on it, it will look like it's convex instead of concave.

   @ K00L The texture for the inside and outside of the mask is the same texture, which doesn't make much sense given the mask's carving. I think that's what Hatwig was getting at, anyway.
