Skyrim

1. Why?

Why not?

2. Will you make a vanilla-only version?

The BAT version is vanilla-only. There will be no vanilla-only ESP version so don't bother asking.

3. Why does this require USLEEP?

USLEEP makes important changes to some of the alchemists, and it corrects a bug that prevented some NPCs in Orc Strongholds from being able to buy and sell goods.

4. Will you make a version that doesn't require USLEEP?

Short answer: No!

Long answer: NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

5. Please?

See above.

6. Where should this go in my load order?

Does anyone read the description anymore?

Essential NPCs - Alchemists should be placed high in your load order, above any mod that makes changes to NPCs. It should also go above any mod that makes changes to towns (ex. ETaC or Arthmoor's Towns).

This is the last FAQ that will include an actual answer to this question. After this time, I will just direct you to read the description.

Like you should be doing in the first place.

7. Is this compatible with (insert mod here)?

Probably. All this does is add an "essential" flag to alchemists, so as long as you keep this above any other mod that makes changes to alchemists, you should be okay. It will obviously be incompatible with any other mod that touches an NPC's "essential" flag.

8. BUT MY IMMERSION!

Find someone who cares.

9. Will you be making any other kind of merchants essential?

Yes!

10. Will you ever release an all-in-one version?

Yes! When I finish all of the modular files, I'll merge them into one great big file for those of you who want it all in one swoop.

11. What about mod-added NPCs?

Probably, though I will only cover NPCs in mods that I personally use. The mod authors will have to give me permission and their FormIDs before I do anything. I won't start making patches until I finish with all of the other modules in the "Essential NPCs" series, so sit tight. I'll eventually get around to it.

12. This mod broke my game!

No it didn't. All it does is flag alchemists as essential, nothing more and nothing less. If you insist, then give me your load order and I'll take a look.

13. I think I found a bug!

First, verify that it's coming from my mod in the first place. Once that's well and done, you can let me know.

Please included very detailed information about the bug, such as where it happened, what you were doing, what the bug was doing, which version you are using, etc. Provide your load order as well so that I can see if it's a result of a strange interaction between other mods you might have.

Also note that if it's a weird interaction between a mod that I personally don't use, you'll have to go to that mod author for help instead.

14. Why does your description have so many colors?

So I can read it.

I have a condition where if there's too much "clutter" in my field of vision, I can't pick out specific things. It happens when you put OCD and ADD into a blender and mix it into a fine puree. Varying, contrasting colors make things easier on me.

Plus, we all need some pretty colors in our lives.

15. Your sarcasm is fatal.

Good.

16. You sound like an asshole.

am an asshole.

I have very little tolerance for questions that can be answered by READING THE DESCRIPTION! Seriously, I spend hours working on it, I expect you to read it. If it confuses you, say so.

I also don't like people who won't take no for an answer. Please respect this.

17. Will this mod be available for the Skyrim Special Edition?

Not immediately, no. Eventually? Yes.

The BAT version should work right out of the box, however!

18. Will this mod ever be available for consoles?

Perhaps.

Thank you for reading, and I hope you have fun!
