Marrok has really found a lovely companion. Even I who abhor domestic animals in skyrim, I would like to attach to such a cute puppy!

Thanks Fabrizio! Well you know I am a big wolf, and dog, fan considering all my Dogmeat images in FO$. In Skyrim I tend to stick to the wolves. I suppose Wolfgar is domesticated if only through his brother and his heritage. Still Wolfgar is more wild than Grim in many ways. Fang ... well fang is just a little pup and Marrok has beast blood so maybe they have a little extra bond that way.

Thanks! Aye I like Insomnia's ENBs (Tobi) a lot. Only I can't use them fully since SweetFX won't run properly on win10 for Dx9 games. But I did what I could with it without the SFX part.

Thanks! The new PC is great and also revealed some interesting things. I have always had a memory issue of some sort (no idea what, maybe a leak) in FO4 where after a certain amount of time my game would start to stutter. Note this is not directly an FPS issue. What would happen is key commands would need to be entered twice or more, typing in the console even would not always register. And the stuttering was horrible. I would try to move and it would go frame by frame and take 5 seconds real time to move a few feet. Yet my FPS would still be reading high. If I didn't exit the game it would eventually crash and sometimes windows would display an out of memory error. Which is odd since I had 12 GB of VRAM and 32 GB of RAM on my old PC.

I could usually play an hour or two before it started though so it was livable most of the time. I did find that zoning in and out a lot and using the workshop a lot would speed up the memory degradation a lot - sometimes causing the issue to appear as quickly as a half hour. Other times, especially out in the woods exploring and small missions I could play for 3 hours.

Anyhow though it was my PC that was the problem. Except the new PC, with very different hardware, has a similar issue just not as bad. I thought the problem was gone until I had a chance to play longer than 2 hours and it happened. My conclusion it that it is either a combination of mods causing a leak somehow or the game engine itself But otherwise the game is running great. I play FO4 on average with 40-60 FPS now which is double what I was playing at with the old PC. Even setting combined objects to off, high grass settings, high shadows, ultra-god-rays and ENB/ReShade things run well. Its very sharp and powerful. May dip to low 20's in certain city areas with the shadows and combined objects being disabled but better than the 8-14 I sometimes got on the old PC and overall thats rare.

For Skyrim - the game is stable enough to play. While I had some mesh conflict crashes while building the world my overall game play has only had one crash and maybe three infinite loading screens - which have been somewhat random and usually overcome with tweaks to memory in enblocal settings ... just need to find consistent ones for each preset I use.

In short Skyrim was not playable before - could only use it for screenshots. Now I can actually play. My FPS is around 30 average outside and 50 inside. I still get some stutters now and then but they don't last long and nothing like before. Its expected considering my textures (although I dropped most to 2k and only use 4K for things I do close ups on like armor and characters).

Outside of games its is much faster on disk usage (got a really nice SSD this time) and boot-up is mega fast.

Overall very happy. It is a bit big though and hadn't really planned that out. It won't fit on the small desk I had my last one on. I want it off the ground (it is made to be on the ground but too much dog hair and dirt and don't want them hitting it when they play). So now looking around for a stand or some way to protect it. For now I blocked it with a couple of things.

I run mostly at between 50-60 on max, only things I notice right in middle of Boston a bit of a lag, and not really lag, and fps do not change much, but seems to bog down a bit, not sure how to explain it..... sounds like you are enjoying it , and I did see a bit big, maybe one of those short half coffee tables, they are short and sturdy most times...... and can normally find them at yard sales very cheap..... I was lucky my dad built me two new desks to sit in like an L so can have both screens and both computers so I can use both by turn of chair......

I hear you about dog hair , my mom and dad are in their 70s and I clean for them once a week to help out and their dog has more hair then 4 dogs some weeks, so understand why you want it up off the floor well they are pretty big dogs, but I have an idea they are very well behaved as knowing you they would be.......

I had that issue a couple of times that stuttering and fps were good but no idea what caused it I would need a few times to reboot game from a save not in that area and try again...... seems t6o be honest there are some spots that just kill you and tried every thing to fix it I can read up or just come up with in my mind and nothing fixed it, but with new rig I have not noticed it much but not been in that are more then once so will have to test it.

I am not going to install Skyrim on this rig...... will leave it on the window 8.1 will run better and with a clean install I think it will set up well

Hmm thanks for the feedback. I have always wondered if anyone else had some similar meory issues in FO4 besides me ... or what other problems people have with it. I know shadows in the city can be a problem for many (hence the shadowboost mod) and ultra god rays as well. Also disabling combined objects can cost some FPS especially in big areas.

Well my FPS is through the roof on basic game even with 2560 x 1440 as my resolution. But once I put everything on ultra for settings. add in ENB on high/ultra, ReShade, thick grass mod with min grass=20, and lots of HR texture packs ... it takes a toll. Still out in the wilderness my fps is often over 50. Inside I had to enable FPS limiter as sometimes it went as high as 80+ even with all the high settings.

Skyrim - well Skyrim ENB is just an FPS killing if you are using good quality settings. Toss in mods, scripts, and an old engine that isn't well optimized (from what I have heard) ... well just glad it runs. I was tempted to use Windows 7 on a separate drive but too much work. I took a gamble and so far, knock on virtual wood, it seems to be ok. A few crashes or ILS I can live with as long as most of the time it plays. It sure looks good at least

Seems like you understand the dog issue well My pups are good overall but they do get excited, especially the smaller and younger female one - she is the one who bangs into things when she gets excited. Thanks for the suggestions - just need to pay off the PC and then will go shopping for some furniture

Was hoping you would like this one. I expect Marrok to be a more gruff dad then Grim was to Wolfgar but he will still take good care of the pup
