A bit grim and rugged here. He comes to the temple of the divines a lot. Most of all he comes here to be alone and to be away from the world. Damocles is a strong man on the outside, but through his armor and walls he's frail and in pain from the trauma he suffered, and being undermined by these memories. He try's to fight his emotions, but it hurts him to hold it in. So he falls on his knees near the shrines with tears streaming down his face, and ask himself "why do I remain here, why don't the gods just take me, like they taking my wife and friends away."

Personally I love your character, I love the fact that it binds so deeply to Kartika. Among the mass of character here on Nexus, emptyand childish, he is one of the few who has the courage to really go beyond the game and become the bearer of an existential question real, eternal, the question of the meaning of suffering and evil. But about the question the gods remain silent, because it goes beyond them. Gods do not have the answer, they are not gods who created men, but the opposite: is the man the creator of the gods. The gods are real as long as they believed in them, they have their promises of salvation, that are anesthetics for the soul. Heaven is the ultimate temptation that they offer to Damocles, "Believe in us and you will meet again with those who have lost." But Damocles stops on the threshold of paradise and hesitates: "you offer me back all that you have ripped me off, but you do not tell me why, you divine, you did it. You do not have an answer as to why you forced us to suffer so much. You stitch up the wound, but you do not tell us because the wound exists, because bleeds and bleeds forever. You do not have the answer, this is the truth."
For Kartika, meeting with Damocles, it is devastating, but also dazzling. Kartika in my universe died in Helgen decapitated, and all that she is experiencing, her entire journey as Last Dragonborn, is nothing but a dream, her way of escaping death, her rebellion against her sad and inexplicable fate. Skyrim begins with the death of the protagonist, this is real hidden secret of this incredible game.
Along her journey Kartika begins to awaken and realize to be not only a character of her dream but also the creator of the dream itself, that the whole universe is only one of her products, the distorted reflection of her soul. Damocles asks a question not to gods, but indirectly to her. Damocles is her creation, she is unconsciously caused all that pain to him. Damocles exists because she can meet him and she could become aware of the existential question that he brings with his pain. Damocles is a character in a novel that asks to the author why he has to bear so much suffering, but the novelist basically don't know the answer.
Kartika truly loves him, but she does not want to take the place of his wife, in some ways Damocles is there, to put in front to Kartika the price you pay to be God. Kartika promises to Damocles, that even if it can not change what happened , what caused by her, she will try to answer the question on which the gods which are silent. She will not accept the sleepy glory of Sovngarde, Kartika so will not try became a nee Talos to dream a new world, in the hope of making a better one, because it is useless. Kartika will answer the question about the ultimate meaning of life otherwise everything will be lost. Because she truly love him, and because love is in someway the answer.
Needless to say, this is how much I love your character. Really, thanks for making him even by Kartika, of course.

The shot is rugged as you say, wich i like, but gives more depth because of that piece of his background,..
