It will be interesting to see if Karliah can actually come up with some intrigue on Edrelle's past; I wonder if that's the next big story arc for Edrelle and co? And as always, I marvel at your ability to handle the interactions of such a diverse group and letting them chat and banter away so naturally as they travel. They truly have the feel of a little family!
Stunning images as always, and your descriptions once again totally sucked me into your world of Skyrim (so nice to read someone's view of Riften not as the cesspit it has become by many other writers' works) !
With the time she spent evading pursuit across the lands Karliah may have heard something of use to Edrelle though the information might be old. I can say the chase for the mystery person in her past will be a big part of that arc. I find some ease in imagining myself in another's shoes, that does help with handling their interactions with their diversity it seems. They certainly see themselves a bit like a family
Happy you thought the images were stunning and that my description pulled you into their world once again (focusing on different aspects or details of the city does seem to bring a different feel to it, my optimism shows in the way I see the city I guess) ^^
The warm way you described the city through her eyes - the soft shadows; remembering her child hood home with her mother; memories of how sounds took on new meaning as a child; the way she paused inside the Bee and Barb as if she was coming "home" in the sense of familiar comfort; and even the warm greeting she got at the guild.
It sounds to me like she might enjoy the guild and Riften as her base of operations when not out on missions. Certainly it would make it useful for the guild being one of the three leaders of the guild (in a way); she would be able to check in between adventures to see how things were running. Even Gallus was often away on missions and planning things so I think the split in leadership works out well. Bryn knows what he is doing as well.
I am very curious to find out what Karliah will say to her - both for Edrelle's sake as a character I am attached to, but also as a reader as I am trying to figure out what your plans are for her as well ... and how you might work that into existing Skyrim content or as something brand new.
As indicated elsewhere I really enjoyed this particular set of images a lot. The top down seen of Riften, the one of her pausing inside the inn, the one of the new home ... those three are my top favorites out of an excellent assortment of images.
Thank you for the new chapter and intrigued to see what comes next
So glad you like the way I described the city in her eyes, she does see it with some warmth - in the way it brings up those memories of home, those sounds of the night heard as a child and that moment in the inn, you are right that she has found some of the comfort of home among the thieves and city walls. A bit of my fondness for the city appears in those descriptions I guess.
Having a place hidden away where there are people that she can trust is valuable to her in those sometimes dangerous lands. Edrelle does like the idea of having a bit of an influence in the guild, to be able to know the happenings of the hold when she returns from wandering. Does seem he was off quite a bit which I guess is one reason they found that arrangement between them, was not so different than when Gallus was there. Bryn does seem good with the day to day running of the guild, he does care for the thieves.
Karliah can be the enigmatic one when she wants to be - Edrelle is curious as you about what she might share about her past, she would appreciate your concern about what she may encounter on her next adventure, I do have plans for her which I will reveal slowly ... I think it may be a mix of existing content and something new.
I am delighted you really enjoyed the shots for this chapter and I appreciate the thoughts you shared about them on Flickr, was pleased with how those three images turned out.
Thank you for your great feedback on the chapter and time will tell what happens next
As always I am awed at your great talent of describing heroes surroundings, such gorgeous descriptions of scenery of Skyrim, the atmosphere which is reflected with such great details that it gives a feeling of seeing what heroes see.
I am very happy that Edrelle, with a help of Karliah has found a way to divide a leadership in guild, so Edrel wont be tied to Riften forever... I really can't imagine her being at one place for too long. Karliah was very intriguing with her promise to shed some light on Edrelle's past and maybe give her some clue of where to find the answers!
Also I can't help but always be amazed of how awesome Edrelle's companions work with each other, what a perfect team they make. So focused and dedicated and with lovely and playful interactions that are always so endearing to see! And I've loved the romantic scenes with Edrelle and Dimitri, she is such playfully teasing that it s impossible to resist! And Dimitri also can be quite a charmer too, calling her a queen of thieves... that sure lightened Edrelle's mood even more! It is always heartwarming to watch the together.
I am looking forward for continuation and thank you very much for sharing your wonderful work!
Edrelle was quite relieved that they found a way to divide that leadership, Karliah was of great help with how she had thought of it beforehand... she sure is not ready to give up that freedom of wandering to many a place. Karliah did make Edrelle curious with the mention of the secrets of her past, we will have to see what she reveals
Facing the dangers of Skyrim and the world of thieves together has taught them well about each others strengths and how to use them together. They are the focused sort when there is a path to follow and answers to be found and being playful keeps their spirits up along the way. Though you might like those scenes with Edrelle and Dimitri, she does like to tease her dear archer and he did find her impossible to resist. That boastful sort does have his charm, she sure appreciated him calling her a queen of thieves, making her chuckle happily. I am really glad it warms your hear to watch them together. Thank you very much for sharing your thoughts, Nataly, more adventure does await the group
Beautiful story work and the images are outstanding!
Wonderful "steamy" ending where these two get some well deserved private time!
Fantastic work as always my friend!
Glad you enjoyed the story and the images among the words ^^
Hehe, they did make the most of that private time they earned after that journey
Thanks for the kind words, my friend
Such a great way to solve the leadership problem..divide to conquer. That way Edrelle doesn't end up being tie down to one spot ! It's always good to see adventurers catch a small break before they hit the road again.
Sorry for keeping my comment short, I'm posting this at 2am in the morning..and my eyes are starting to close on me lol.
Anyhow ! Beautifully done my friend ! looking forward to the next chapter !
Karliah had put some thought into that problem, knowing Edrelle might not want to be tied down, that she was not one to stay too long in one place. I am glad it is good to see them have a little respite, they did enjoy sharing some words in the inn and the two lovebirds had some fun sharing those tender moments
Don't worry about it, being tired does not make it more difficult for me to put together a long comment too.
Thanks you very much, my friend, look forward to sharing that chapter
Great Idea to share the leadership of the Guild between the three nightingales; two of them traveling; the third staying to deal with the day to day affairs!
And it seems your Group of Friends and Lovers has found some rest inside the City Walls; before they decide what to do next Very well done!
I though it would be an agreement they could reasonably come to, keeps Bryn doing what he is comfortable with while letting the others travel as they want.
The friends did have some nice conversation in the inn and a certain thief and archer did enjoy themselves quite a bit that night, thoughts of that path ahead could wait Many thanks, Anataron
