In regards to the comments on Fenrir merging with Wolfgar, here is a more clear explanation. It was just Fenrir being dramatic. He briefly joined with Wolfgar and triggered those dormant genes that housed his divine heritage to Fenrir. By doing so it made the ice wolf side the prominent one, increasing his size and power in the process. So wolfgar turned white and got bigger. He also got a bit of magic resistance and increased strength so he will be a more formidable companion.

    Another great chapter!
I liked the description of the old wall of Riften by comparing it to the guild, very well done. Very fun moment with Grim an Bryn! It reminded me of stirred children than a mother had trouble to calm, haha excellent I like Grim aversion for the mask too ^^
I love that sentence: " While he had no problem lying to those he didn’t care about he found it weighed heavy on his conscience to lie to his best friend. I like a lot because it shows that Grim is a man like any other despite being almost like a god, of course the gods are not perfect in skyrim too, ah I explain badly is not easy in English, but what I mean is that I like it when you said that he had no problem lying to those about did he not care, which shows that it is a good man because he does not like lying to people he loves, but it is not a perfect man (which does not exist) that would be able to be honest with everyone, in short

What a great surprise to see Fenrir here! indeed this is a family reunion
But the biggest surprise is to learn this revelation about Alfrun, what a great job you have done, I am sure that none of the readers could have imagined, that's worthy of a great writer. It's really sad to hear that Alfrun is really dead, but it's so beautiful to see the love she has for his son, I knew she loved him. I feel that the Thalmor will suffer when Grim will fall on them ...

Very nice moment between Grim and his father Fenrir, I am sure that Grim will do everything to free him but i hope he will succeed because a very dark fate await Fenrir if his son fail... The world would be great danger on Nirn if the Thalmor would be able to control Fenrir and I'm afraid that the moons and the sun are swallowed by him under the Thalmor control
Nice to see Fenrir is the opposite that in Norse mythology, although it would end similar, if the Thalmor succeed!

So that's why Wolfie turned white and more tall, but also more strong now. He have a part of Fenrir in him and I'm looking forward to see his new strength in action
Of course the pictures are magnificent with a great atmosphere and lighting, the main shot is my favorite but the last has an incredible atmosphere!

Oh and I forgot to say, beautiful music and I watch the video before the reading. Magnificent landscape with beautiful animals and a lovely lady

Woot! Many thanks for sticking so long with my stories Franck, much appreciated. I always look forward to your comments and insight. I understand what you mean about Grim and his honesty. Grim is ... well perhaps the best comparison is the old days when we had calns and tribes. He is devoted to his pack, his clan, but outside of that he is ... well more flexible in his morals I guess is the best way to put it.

Overall he fallows the golden rule - do unto others as you would like done unto you - with the understanding that people who do not follow that rule are then exempt from it. Now a perfectly good person would not do that but Grim, as you say, is not perfect

I am also very pleased you picked up on the Norse mythology. Fenrir, from what I know, started out basically neutral. But Odin and the rest became afraid of how fast he grew but instead of showing compassion they gave into their fear and tricked and betrayed Fenrir, chaining him.

Fenrir in Skyrim is the great wolf while he was Neutral - like Nature. Then the Thalmor chained him, like Odin and the gods did - and the Thalmor had some help from two "Daedric gods" - but luckily he was able to escape his body - so his mind and spirit did not suffer and make him go insane and evil. Grim is trying to make sure that doesn't happen! That is part of his destiny.

So glad you enjoyed the story and images!

Indeed - aiding Fenrir is Grim's number one focus and there will be a lot of repercussions if he fails or succeeds at freeing him ... as well as some important decisions to make!

Yea not a big mask person although I understand its appeal Appreciate the comment and glad you liked the story!

Hmm, I see what Karliah means about rogues in the family. I wonder how Grim would've reacted had Alfrún told him the whole truth. Still, Alfrún's deception doesn't seem like too big of a problem; the important parts were still true enough. It'll be sad for Grim to lose her.

Grim and Brynjolf trade jokes and jabs well, like only good friends can. And that armor looks surprisingly good on all three, though I don't blame Grim for taking the helmet off.

Nice bit with Fenrir, too, and Wolfgar's transformation. May their deal with Nocturnal go off well, even if it doesn't go according to plan.

Nicely done as always, Jonathan, both pics and story! I like the atmosphere in that cavern.

Now on to the next one...

Howdy Aaron! Glad you enjoyed this latest chapter. Knowing Grim's aversion to soul manipulation I suspect he might have been a lot more suspicious if Alfrun had told him the whole truth ... but maybe it would have been better. Still people do and say strange things sometimes when strong emotions hit and you are person to person.

Hopefully you will enjoy all the resolutions and thread tie-ups in part two - Enjoy the read and thank you very much for the comments and feedback!

Most interesting; if Alfrun wasn't a self-classed "rogue" I'd consider her to be a dangerous silence- tongue for her continuing duplicitous ways. She seems to have layer upon layer of secrets. Perhaps this is it though; she's finally laid bare before Grim now.

I'm glad you told this story; for a while I thought you were going to leave Grim and co's meeting with Nocturnal a mystery (instead focusing on Erik's time with Hircine). Im really keen to see how grim interacts with Nocturnal. Not being a thief type, I rarely play the thieves guild so don't really know much about this quest line. I'm interested to see your take on this particular Prince.

Very nice transformation of Wolfgar. He looks smashing as a big, wise old white wolf. Grim doesn't seem like such the giant standing next to him anymore!

Off to read the next chapter; ps, love the banter between grim and Bryn and the little playful ass grabbing! Cute.

Thanks for the feedback and comments Jess - I had never wanted Alfrun to be a super close and loving mother. It just didn't fit her image as a care-free, rebellious, very talented rogue and mage. I wanted to show a struggle, however, between her emotions and her personality when it came to Grim. Thus it was she told some half-truths and, in the end, got more entangled in her own emotions than she had planned. People make mistakes and I think she got caught in her own web in some ways.

I like Wolfgar all big and powerful now and glad you liked the chit-chat with Bryn and Grim ... I need to remember to do more of that as I enjoy it myself.

No worries at all Tobjoern. You have been following my work for ages it seems and I always appreciate when you have the time to stop and say a few words and enjoy my posts. I write a lot and I never expect anyone to keep up with me! There are so many great posters on Nexus it is pretty much impossible ... I keep trying but I have to stick with a few favorites and on weekends try to do some random viewing to make sure I see new folks stuff as well. It is the best compromise I can find.

Thank you for all your support Tobjoern!

      You're welcome. It's always a pleasure.
It's the same for me, due to the lack of time I can only follow some of my favorites (and of course my friends) in the Skyrim Nexus - although I know that there are many many other very talented screenshooters, but at a certain point it's simply too much to follow everthing and everyone's work...

Ahh thanks for that explanation I was wondering at the end Great chapter Jon! That bit about alfrun and karliah switching threw me I didn't see that at all but makes sense looking back now!

It was a bit tricky and convoluted. If I had done it in a book it would have been more thorough and more subtle hints and nuance. The reader could then flip back and forth and make more sense of it.I did what I could here to try and make it clear - glad you figured it all out in the end. Thanks very much for the comment!
