Excellent work Wolfgrim!
You shots are awesome as expected, great work on those as well
Kudos for you for doing this.
As usual, those are some fantastic images to go along with your superb writing skills, Grim:-)
That was an interesting turn to see Erik now being part of the "business". Long time ago I said that I like your writing style - and I still do. There is so much detail in it. I liked the part as Grim grabbed the ring while the stray dog watched him, and he gave him a treat afterwards, as a reward for not giving mouth.
I also liked the part with the Brand-Shei *mission* and how the further course of the story clears up the reader's initial "confusion". At first I really wondered who that thug might be! (but by scrolling up I recognized him by his white red belt ).
...and once again you have choosen some great images for illustration!
Of course the puppy-eyed Wolfgar is my favorite!
(closely followed by No 22 in which Grim crept into the sewers (great lighting on him) and that one with the lever of the drawbridge (very nice perspective and lighting by the candles on the wall)
Glad you enjoyed my little bit of misdirection with Erik and Brand-Shei and the way I handled the mission and details. I have to balance keeping things somewhat short otherwise I would go into much more detail. But these are barely short stories let alone an actual book
Thanks again for the nice comment!
Amazing! I did not know that Grim had such business talents.
Grim has been very noble in not wanting accused the poor Brand-Shei, which is indeed an honest worker.
I unfortunately feel know who is the aggressor of Brand-Shei, I really hope I'm wrong.
Grim proving once again his great kindness in helping this poor merchant Dunmer, fortunately he was there to deal with the corruption and incompetence of these fools guards.
A great suspense is always present about the mother of Grim, I hope he will get the answers, maybe it will change a lot in his life.
All images are beautiful, but I especially love that of Wolfgar and the first is sublime!
Can I save them to use as wallpaper?
Oh and thank you for the link to the site, it is very well done and I love the pictures of the presentation
As for wallpaper, but of course, I am very flattered!
Google translate is not perfect and my knowledge in english too
Thanks for the wallpapers!
First I gotta say... you got me. I got halfway through and read about brand-shei having his hide handed go him and I'm getting all hot under the collar going, "what is Jon thinking? Grim wouldn't agree to this?!" Then bam! Fake beating! Masterfully done. In keeping with gentle and noble grim perfectly. I'm so proud of our boy!
I have to go back a me look at the pics again; I was too engrossed to check me out.
Stunning! Your ENB work sure pays off - these are such atmospheric and lovely shots. Well done all round ( most especially for fooling me)!
The big delay in this chapter was trying to solve both the meta-game issue of having Grim do the quest while being fairly lore friendly yet also not taking him out of character. If I have to make him be something he isn't then he will just quit the guild. I have a few places where he will be faced with some hard choices and I plan on keeping him true to himself.
Although I am not talking about those grey situations where there is no right way (i.e. say the Thalmor kidnapped Wolfgar and Erik and he only had time to save one of them which would it be? Either decision he made would not take him out of character. However faced with a decision to destroy an innocent merchant and his family, so he could get a clue about his mother? If he went for the clue then that would be out of character).
As it stands his character won't allow him to be a true member of the guild as it stands now so he has only three real options 1) Do his best to get through the minimal amount of work needed until he finds what he needs and then he quits the guild; 2) Get pushed to far and be forced to give up on his quest and walk away from the mission; 3) ... well 3 I can't talk about yet
So glad you enjoyed the story and I know a few people were all freaked out that kind farm boy Erik would turn into a thug ... only to find out it was a plan. The BWC is known for deceptions withing deceptions, plots within plots, they enjoy overly convoluted plans I am having way to much fun trying to find semi-logical ways for Grim and Erik to achieve their goal. It is taking all their skill, wits, and resources. They are doing it the much harder way.
However they have allies. Bryn, and a few others yet unamed, within the guild itself. The Temple of Mara is on his side for reasons not yet revealed. Currently he is working the town - helping out the smith with his fire salts, the meat seller with her ice teeth, Madesi, Keeveras partner, Brand-Shei, the drug addict, the beggar, and others (from the iNPC mod).
I am having way to much fun with all of this! Thanks again for the comment!
Thank you for reading it all and for the nice comment and feedback. I suspect if he hits a brick wall he will charge like a bull and break it down Actually I know he will hit the proverbial wall at some point ... but then that is where he, Erik, and Bryn will enact their master plan. But I can't reveal anything now ... will have to wait for things to unfold.
I like to think of him more as a Ranger/Spy/Swashbuckler type with a dash of Robin Hood. A Chaotic Good Ranger/Rogue in the world of AD& with a wolf animal companion.
Brilliant work! I love seeing them in action!
Mmmmm! A Wolfgar treat! I hope Wolfgar didn't see me get one!
...Wait! Hey!!! Garm bring that back here!!!
Dammit! Garm took mine!!
While I have a plot line that can take them all the way to the end of the quest line I am not sure I will yet. I have an emergency plot escape to get them out early if I decide it goes to much against his character to stay there.
I will see about getting some extra treats
