SPOILERS FOR DRAGONBORN DLC AS A WARNING!!
HERE is the part before this one if you wish to read it again or havent read it yet ;)
The atmosphere was changed, the air thick, smelled of toxic though not dangerous and the sky was all green like if it was all filled with poison. It was dark, barely some lightsources lit the area around and Irene could barely see she was standing on a sort of platform, surrounded by black water which... moved.. as if something was in it.
"Aaah, another curious soul seeking knowledge into the realm of Apocrypha." - a grim dark voice echoed through the green air around Irene all of a sudden and she looks around with confusion where the voice came from with no luck finding the location.
"Welcome!" - the voice echoed again, and yet again Irene looks around but couldnt find out where it came from.
"You may seek whatever knowledge you want, if you have the strenght and will to get to it. I give you one warning. This place is not of a peaceful library. Always be on your guard." - the voice continued.
"What.. wait.. who are you?" - Irene asks simply to the air thinking if he would answer her or not.
"You have met me before, and we will meet again i'm sure. Good luck." - the voice answered before turned silent. Irene looks around in the darkness, began to creep her up to her spine as something evil was at work here which would not exactly let her leave this place easily.
"Better get some more light.." - Irene thought as she brought up a torch and lit it. It didnt help much as the darkness reacted like it didnt allow the torch to light up brighter.. "strange.." - she kept thinking as she starts walking forward, kept hearing noises of the water spatters at the side of the platform she was walking on. And when she then heard the spatter noises because louder she noticed the platform was now tighter aswell and she was closer to the edge on both side.. "better not fall out.. do not want to find out whats in that water.." - she shiver'd, and looks around the darkness to find out where to go. Suddenly something dark approached in front of her coming from the water and launched forward straight to her face. She ducked quickly as the huge tentacle slightly touched her hair and disappeared into the water again. Then right after another tentacle came out of the water and hit her legs from behind sending her to fall right on her back. Some breath knocked out of her lounges as she quickly rolls around to dodge a new hit with the tentacle, then rose up and jumped over the next attack and drew her sword for possibly cut them to make it stop.. though it would probably not help anyway, but too late to think that cause the next attack again came forth and she didnt react fast enough to dodge and gets hit on her belly, sending her flying back, luckely not into the water. Landing on the platform with a perfect hard landing the tentacles stopped attacking as she was now further away from the edge.
But even though that trouble was over, something else took over and attacked Irene as she were about to rise up again. Those tentacle creatures again, throwing some green poisonous stuff all over her which ached her skin with burning sensation which she ofcourse ignored as she charged forth to cut the mutated creatures with her sword, not even knowing she had lost her torch.
She kept dodging more and more of that green stuff that creature threw at her before she slashed her sword at it, cutting it right through, splitting its body. She looks at the creature as it falls into the water and gets consumed by the tentacles. Horrible sight.
"Geez.. what a place.." - Irene thinks as she continues to walk up some stairs and through some locked doors which she found out how to open with some strange mechanism and through more doors before reaching a huge room, or rather said open place with a pond in the middle. And when she stepped closer, she crouched down when seeing the pond starts boiling and something huge rose up from it.. just like a Giant but it was certainly not a Giant.. simply a monster with fishhead and razor sharp teeths.
She stares at the wicked monster with wide eyes as it walks around seeming to not have noticed her yet. Well.. that was before a random book from the shelf right next to her decided to fall down on the ground and the monster turns instantly towards her and growls angry and showing its teeth with a grin before running with heavy steps towards her and she tightens her grip around her sword and loads up her fire spells while walks down the stairs preparing for the fight. Feeling the ground shake abit at the heavy steps nearing her and the growl sound louder and louder and even the smell of mold. Old water and the monster's skin drenched with it.
The monster tried to hit Irene with its sharp nails but she dodged, and hit her sword after it. Dodged more hits while moving around quickly before blocking next hit with her sword. So hard that she stumbled backwards at the impact, then as she regained balance the monster spat out something.. just like those tentacle creatures sends out but not spitting.. and certainly not so much at once.. tried to get away but it flew too fast towards her and as it hit her lots of small tentacles shot out of the slime and surrounded her. Hit her many times, slapping, dragging and scratching while she focused on slashing her sword all over to cut the tentacles while dodging next spits from the monster.
Slowly but painfully the slime all over her body fell off and left bruises after scratches and blue marks after the tight grip of tentacles on her skin.. which she ignored as she continuesly slashed her sword all over the monster, before finally cutting its throat and sent it crouching on the dark and cold floor where it looked up to Irene with that sharpy-toothy grin again and growled..
"You should have stayed in your pool!" - Irene said the final words before thrusted her sword straight through its throat.
She pulls out her sword again and stumbles backwards while looking around thoroughly to see anymore danger luring in the darkness.. seeming the place was now safe enough she sheathed her sword and looked around her soar arms..
"Damn tentacles.." - Irene curses seeing the scratches and blue marks.. "and great.. one tentacle actually managed to break one of my fingers.." - she notice her left-hand thumb was out of possition. Didnt hesitate, and moved it quickly back to place again.. ignored the pain as she tried to load a healing spell which didnt seem to work.. and she felt she was surprisingly emptied with Magicka.. strange cause she hasnt even used any magic during the fights. This place has emtied her of all Magicka to let her just fight with sword.. clever.. and all the potions laid in Alana's bag so she would have to do without though she wasnt exactly in dire situation of needed any health potions either.
Shooking her head she walks up past the pond and up towards a table where a book laid perfectly placed like an invitation. And that was quite a huge book.
Irene thought for a moment... then opened it... it was heavy but that was not a problem and three glowing orbs flew up for the pages and below it stood what those orbs were. The first one was called the Companion's Insight: choosing that would give Irene an unusual power who worked all the time whenever she would do a shout or magical attack.. and if it would hit her companions it would send out an aura to surround the one companion and thus protecting her or him for damage.
"Hmm.. interesting.." - Irene thought moving to read the second one, which was called the Lover's Insight: choosing this one would give Irene an aura which would make her more unresistable to the oposite sex.
"I.. dont... um.. think i need that..." - Irene shook her head with disapproval while moving to read about the third and last orb which was called the Scholar's Insight: choosing this one would give Irene the ability to remember what she read in books more easily..
"What is this... i dont have that bad memory that i need... sigh.. i know what to choose, cause it seems i have to choose one to actually get out of this place.. so Companion's Insight it'll be then!" - Irene decided and touched the orb.
Feeling the orb reach into her skin, and up to her head feeling the knowledge seep into her mind, she saw light blinging her eyes and she just had to close them cause she could barely see while feeling the knowledge work its way through her mind as she learned that Insight.
Back at the ruin.. Alana, Sighne and Louise had stopped trying to get rid of the tentacles which covered Irene's unconcious body.. but it also seems like she was in that same trance just like what happened by that rock. She was there but even so she wasnt at the same time..
"Why do she have to be so curious.. all the time..." - Alana looks at her with concern.
"Look.. the tentacles are slowly going away.." - Louise points out and it was true what she said.. the tentacles did indeed slowly go away, simply face away, disappearing into thin air before a bright light blitzed in front of Irene as she got sent backwards right into Alana who caught her quickly.
"Whoaa.. thank you dear.. good to be back!" - Irene shook her head and took a deep breath to regain new fresher air instead of that toxic smelly air of that realm.
"What? back? ... but you have been here all the time.." - Alana says while holding Irene in a hug.
"Oh.. have i?" - Irene asks slightly surprised.
"Yes, but you were like.. gone.. and covered with tentacles which seemed to hold you as a prisoner.." - Sighne mention seriously.
"Gone.. like unconcious.. we could not remove those tentacles off your body.." - Louise added.
"Where were you? what happened?" - Alana continued to ask.. then she noticed her bruises on her skin.. "and how did you get those?" - she added even more concerned and looked at them closely.
"I was in a place.. called Apocrypha. Not a peaceful place hence my wounds.." - Irene answered calmly.
"Apocrypha? Are you serious?" - Sighne and Louise almost yelled together with surprised expressions.
"Yes.." - Irene nods.
"Apocrypha? isnt that.." - Alana starts.. and Sighne finishes her sentence.. "..the place of Hermaeus Mora." ... Irene looks at the sisters with a frown..
"The Daedric Prince of Fate, Knowledge and Memory." - Louise finished the sentence.
