This mod is for people who like 3rd person and hunting deer with a bow. If the deer always vanish by the time you get in 1st person mode and ready your bow or if they are too hard to find, try this mod. It does three things. First it notifies you (in an RP way) that deer are close, it gives a time interval and then it "respawns" the deer near you. It does not change deer behavior or add additional creatures. You will kill many more deer with this mod than without it. I was surprised when I ran the mod; many more wilderness areas have deer than I ever suspected. However I usually just run along a road and find plenty - enough to keep Doggy well fed. :)

***IMPORTANT INFO for Running mod***************
You must equip arrows, iron or steel (have some in your inventory) and click on
them for this mod to do anything. The mod will simply do nothing if arrows are unequipped.

1. Installation:
Installation is straight-forward and similar to installation of any other
Oblivion plugin. Simply extract the deerhunter.esp file into your
Oblivion\Data directory, then click "Data Files" in the Oblivion start-up
dialog, and check the box next to the deerhunter plugin.

If you downloaded the original, just overwrite the existing deerhunter.esp


2. Uninstallation:
Uninstallation is a simple matter of deleting (or moving) the
deerhunter.esp file from your Oblivion\Data directory. To remove without
deleting, instead un-check the box next to the deerhunter plugin in your
Oblivion start-up dialog.


3. Compatability:
This plugin should be compatible to most mods but have only played with the
following mods:

Natural Wildlife - resize
GoldCoinBagger
KeinTischInAnvil
PetsOfChorrol
Natural Environments

4. Plugin Notes:
The mod runs a script attached to CreatureDeerDoe and CreatureDeerBuck that
"calls" them close to you whenever you enter a cell in which they normally
spawn. They will not appear immediately and will act normally once they appear. Some will run away, some will wander away,etc. Their action seems to depend on both their default behavior and your sneak status. Also other NPC's in area will affect their behavior. Naturally you need to have a decent sneak skill and be in sneak mode
if you want to kill them without chasing them down.

Deer will not appear in a cell if you re-enter that cell after having just
left it.

I cannot in my wildest imagination think that this mod would harm your computer. However, Use it at your own risk.

Felic who made the suggestion to try the "OnLoad" command to start the script.

It is such a short bit of script I doubt anyone will want to use it in
their mods. However if you want to use, then use at will and only give
me credit if you feel credit is due. The script should work for any
creature you can't get enough of hunting. :)
