Why does the Imperial City have the worst player-owned house? It is the Empire's center of wealth and power, and your residence there should reflect that. Discover the Sanctum Sanctorum at the heart of the Imperial City. A residence and refuge for the Imperial family, now vacant with the end of the lineage.

The door to the Sanctum is located southeast of the White Palace, in the surrounding wall of the Green Emperor Way between the Arena Exit and the Arboretum Exit. An Ayleid icon appears on your compass to point the direction and a map marker will announce your discovery of the Sanctum Sanctorum. You will be able to fast travel to the entrance after finding it. The door is not locked.

The Sanctum is an Ayleid structure that shows its age, but never fell into disrepair like the Ayleid ruins scattered across Tamriel. It is brighter, warmer and much more hospitable. There is the Chapel with an Altar of the Nine near the entrance, with non-respawning Ayleid Reliquaries for storage. The Hall of the Arcane has an adjacent Alchemy Room, with Casks that respawn with useful ingredients. The Residence Hall has dining tables, sleeping alcoves and a well stocked library. The Baths have heated pools and more non-respawning containers. The Sanctum Antechamber contains a shrine that causes vampirism, and another that cures it. The Antechamber leads to the Garden of Good and Evil. Explore it well armed. Things are not always as they seem.

There are four NPCs in the Sanctum who offer training or vending, including a Thieves Guild fence. While they stock only a few quality items, they will buy most anything, and their pockets are deep.
