Purpose
-------

This is a re-texture of the Ayleid Ruins wall and floor textures. I have done two others; both of the previous versions tried to stay with the Original Bethesda vision of the Ayleid race working with iron and stone only. This version better reflects (in my opinion) what ultra powerful Elven lords would build. In addition, the Elves must have placed some very powerful maintenance spells on the marble since it's remained in amazingly good condition for the last 3000 years (the Ayleids must be very anal about dirt!).

NOTE: For this set of textures, I would recommend usng Ceano's modified Ayleid Ruins mod, which fixes most of the broken sections, and removes debris. It really makes the Ruins look amazing! His mod can be found at:

http://www.tessource.net/files/file.php?id=6711

This can be used in two ways.

1. By adding these textures to your Oblivion data directory, every Ayleid Ruin in the game will look renewed. This mod does not change the ruins themselves, so broken columns, fallen bricks, etc. are still present, but the stone and iron work in the ruins has been significantly changed.

2. Use as a modder's resource for those of you building new Ayleid structures that would prefer a less weathered look.

This version uses three green marble textures, and the ironwork is dark. In this version I did not change the texture of the Varla and Welkyd stones.

Installation
-------------

1. Use a zip-compatible extractor program to extract the contents of the zip into your ..\Oblivion\Data directory. Ensure you have "use subfolders" enabled.

2. If you still use the "archiveinvalidation.txt" file, then copy the contents of the included ArchiveInvalidation.txt file to your file.

Deinstallation
--------------

1. Delete the directory ..\Oblivion\Data\textures\dungeons\ayleidruins
2. Remove associated files from your ArchiveInvalidation.txt file (if appropriate)

Known Problems
--------------

1. NOTE: Due to the way Bethesda built the wall models used for Ayleid Ruins, there are places where the textures look a bit strange. I've tried to avoid that whenever possible, but to really resolve the issues would require changing the assoicated NIF files. Nevertheless, I think the walls look pretty impressive.

2. This mod will over write any existing Ayleid Ruins textures you have in your Oblivion directory.
