Intro
---------------------
I was thoroughly annoyed by the instant loading of ruins and buildings when they are within range, while, unlike the major cities, they are never visible when they are far away. This mod is the first step in correcting this problem, by making all of the Ayleid Ruins visible, regardless of their distance from the player.

About Version 1.0:
------------------------------
I addressed the problems of the mod not working by including the Distant LOD files, as well as including information about updating the LOD data if the mod still does not work.

About Version 0.9:
------------------------------
This is the initial release of the "Distant Ruins" mod, which makes all of the Ayleid Ruins visible from a distance, thus making the world feel a bit more realistic.

At the release of this version, no one other than myself has used this mod, and so I have not received verification that this mod is in perfect working order, although it works perfectly on my system. If this mod functions properly in your game, please inform me at the address below so that I can release a more official version of the mod.

Technical Information
------------------------------
Includes the "*.nif" and "*_far.nif" versions of the exterior meshes for ayleid ruins, which have been edited to reduce
the file size of each of the "*_far.nif" meshes. Meshes for insignificant objects, such as vines and stand-alone bricks, are not included, since I did not make them visible when distant.

Installation
------------------------------
1. Unrar the Meshes folder, Distant LOD folder, and the DistantRuins.esp into your Oblivion\Data folder. If asked to overwrite, choose "Yes".
**NOTE** If you are using any other mods that use Distant LOD files, those mods may not work if you overwrite the old Distant LOD files with the ones that come with this mod.
2. On the game launch screen, select Data Files and check the box next to the DistantRuins.esp.

IF THE MOD DOES NOT FUNCTION, download the Construction Set if you don't already have it, open it up with Oblivion.esm and have DistantRuins.esp as the active file. Then go to World->World Testing->Update Distant LOD Data. Select Tamriel and export. Save. The mod should now work properly.

Performance Issues
------------------------------
Depending on your computer specifications, you may encounter a drastic reduction in your framerate. To improve game performance, you may want to reduce the value for "uGridsToLoad", which can be found in the Oblivion.ini. Another option is to selectively delete some of the "*_far.nif" files from the meshes\dungeons\ayleidruins\exterior folder. I suggest that you remove some or all of the "arinnercircle##_far.nif" files, since they are used heavily by most of the ruins but not always directly visible, due to the outercircle structures blocking them from your sight.

Uninstallation
------------------------------
To uninstall, delete the DistantRuins.esp in the Oblivion\Data folder, then delete the .nif files in the
Oblivion\Data\meshes\dungeons\ayleidruins\exterior folder.
