Description:
I got tired of the game’s unit of encumbrance system that has 40+ lb claymores, 9 lb daggers, 1 lb rings, etc. With this mod, I aim to rebalance the items in the game to more accurately represent how things would be in real life. I've done extensive research on medieval weaponry and armor, weight per cubic foot of various materials, and the weight of other miscellaneous items (apples, mushrooms, seeds etc) and adjusted the in-game values to be more alike these kinds of items in real life.

Typically a full suit of plate armor weighs at least 60-70 lbs, 65 lbs being the average. I have the standard for the game set at 57 lbs (a little lighter to compensate for heavy Daedric) for a suit of steel armor. I used steel as the base material for all others to be compared to.

There are many other features to the game that Oblivion Realism Rebalance adds to make Oblivion a more enjoyable experience for all those interested in realism.

• Iron and Steel Arrows renamed to Oak and Ash respectively.
• Miscellaneous items have value & the values for gems & pelts have been increased.
• The player can now carry much less for added realism.
• Players with skill in Heavy Armor can now carry more thanks to their knowledge in the use of heavy materials.
• Reduced backwards running/walking with a slight chance of tripping & falling down.
• More realistic arrow & magic projectile speeds.
• Larger Orcs & Nords to make them more realistic and less ‘skinny’ compared to other races.
