== Description ==
------------------------------
Very simply, this is a new player character for you to use in Oblivion.

More correctly, it is a Breton race clone that uses a custom texture and a custom face structure.
It also includes a level 1 sewer "save game" with everything set up appropriately for immediate use.

The only character that changes is the player character - thus the custom race, and not just a new texture for Bretons.

Nothing from the original game is overwritten.
-------------------------------

== Installation ==
-------------------------------
Save the contents of the included "data" folder to your Oblivion\Data folder.
Save the included savegame "Save 1 - Charle - Sewers, Level 1, Playing Time 01.12.50.ess" into your savegame directory. (Typically this is C:\My Documents\My Games\Oblivion\Saves)
Start Oblivion, and make sure the check off the Charle.esp file in the Datafiles option.

To uninstall the mod, just delete the Charle.esp file, and the Data\textures\characters\cubesteak_Charle directory.

Because this is a custom race, any save games made while using the mod probably won't work if you attempt to use them after you have uninstalled it.

I don't know if these are "required" or not. I have them installed, and I don't have time to check if everything works fine without them. I imagine if you are interested in different faces, then you probably already have these anyway.

Generic Faces: http://www.tessource.net/files/cache/1903.html
Natural Faces: http://www.tessource.net/files/cache/3797.html

Alternatively, you can get the exact verions I'm using by downloading Cynder's female faces at: http://www.tessource.net/files/cache/3516.html

== Simple Use ==
--------------------------------

The easiest way to use this, is with the accompanying savegame.
The savegame is a Sewer Exit save, meaning that you can still change class and birthsigns, etc. by activating the sewer exit.

If you want to change hair style or color, or eye color, etc. Click the "Change Race" button, but MAKE SURE THAT YOU DON'T ACTUALLY CHANGE THE RACE! If you do, the face shape will be intact, but the custom facial texture won't load.

As long as you just change hair style, hair color and eye color, you should be OK.

And, of course, you can pick your class and birthsign with no adverse effects.

== If You Are a Glutton for Punishment ==
--------------------------------
If you absolutely, positively MUST use this character with your own savegame and leveled up character, it is possible, but takes some work. If you don't follow these directions exactly, you'll loose your skill levels and/or race and/or birthsign attributes.

If you do decide to follow these directions, PLEASE MAKE SURE THAT YOU HAVE MADE A BACKUP OF THE SAVEGAME YOU ARE ABOUT TO CHANGE!

To use this character with your existing leveled up savegame:

1) Make a backup of your save game.

2) Use ElderFaceLift (http://www.tessource.net/files/cache/4600.html) to copy the face data from the included mod savegame to YOUR savegame.

3) press ~ to access the console and type "showracemenu"

4) Change your race to Charle

5) Change the hair and eyes if you want. I don't recommend playing with anything else there...

6) DON'T CLOSE THE RACE MENU and DON'T CLOSE THE CONSOLE!

7) Instead, just hit ESC and save the game to a new game. What we just created is the new character look with your same skill levelups, but with no birthsign or race powers/attributes, etc.

8) To get your birthsign back, load the new game that you saved in the step above and open the console again and type "showbirthsignmenu"

9) Select the birthsign that you used originally, and close out the menu. If you look at your character stats, etc. you should now have all of your birthsign attributes and effects, etc. I'd save the game again to a new savegame, but its not really required.

10) Now we need to get your race attributes back. Because this is a breton clone, that's the attributes and powers that I'll show you how to get back. I supposed you could use different ones, but I'll leave that up to you..

11) To get the appropriate Breton power and abilities back, open the console and type the following:

player.addspell 00047AD2 (gives AbRaceBretonFortifyMagic)
player.addspell 00047AD1 (gives AbRaceBretonResistMagic)
player.addspell 00047AD0 (gives PwRaceBretonShield)

This works, because all the abilities and powers, etc. are considered spells. Adding them to your "spell book" gives you the powers back.

12) If you have already completed the "Gray Prince" lineage quest, and you'd like his special training back, you can also type:

player.addspell 000CBF19 (gives GrayPrinceTrain)

13) I haven't finished the game all the way through yet, so I don't know if there are other quests that give "gray prince" style bonuses, etc. If so, you'll have lost those bonuses too by following these directions. To get them back, use the Elder Scrolls Construction Kit to look up the hex code for that particular "spell" and add them as I've explained above.

14) Save the game again, and then check out your character. You should have the new look and textures, along with your old skill level ups, your birthsign attributes as well as your Breton race fortification and resistance, as well as the Breton Shield power.
