07/21/17 - Rywyn Productions and the Rathunas team are proud to announce we have begun development of the much requested Gilgaliad-Rathunas Compatibility Updates!  

Looking to create compatibility while preserving the unique flavour of both mods, the "patch" will consist of major updates to the landscape of Gilgaliad coupled with a smaller update to Rathunas. With these updates both mods will be able to coexist on their own account independently; however, we're not stopping there! Additionally we are developing a small .esp "patch" that will seamlessly merge both mods into a single cohesive landscape. Gilgaliad will be moving to the northwest, becoming the source of the river that will continue south flowing through Rathunas and into the Brena River beyond. The beyond borders wilderness that Gilgaliad will occupy will be reseeded as rocky yet verdant Colovian woodland, a region of vistas and waterfalls, unique flora and adventures large and small! This collaborative effort between the two teams is an active work-in-progress, but nevertheless a significant project. We will provide further updates as the work progresses and will be answering questions by comment or pm.

UPDATE 05/14/19 - THE WORK CONTINUES

Hello everyone, it's been a long wait and Gilgaliad Foreve- err I mean Gilgaliad REBORN is almost here. I'll be the first to admit it has taken significantly longer than anyone could have ever expected. It's been a crazy past couple years for myself and my friends who have contributed to the project. Personal ups and downs for all of us, and indeed a couple of serious reverses in development as well. However, despite all of that, we have persevered, and Gilgaliad is looking better than ever. For those who are are still waiting patiently, I salute you and hope we can deliver on your expectations. Gilgaliad Reborn will bring a completely transformed Gilgaliad, with near all exteriors massively expanded and massively redesigned.

Gilgaliad Reborn will consist of 4 releases. The first, the Rathunas Compatibility Update, will move Gilgaliad completely to the west, revealing the stunning new landscape of West Colovia, nearly .5 square miles of new game area. The will also include a massively updated UL Brena River Compatibility Patch. This we are aiming to have out in August.

The second will be a compatibility patch with UL Colovian Highlands, which Gilgaliad Reborn now conflicts with. This we will be releasing ASAP after the Rathunas Update.

Third will be a "Merge Patch" with Rathunas which allows for seamless integration of the two mods, including incorporation of some MOROB/Gilgaliad Resources into the environs of Rathunas and vice versa (primarily aesthetics, flowers, et cetera). Without this patch the mods will be compatible, but completely separate.

Finally, Build a Better Tower and Other Assorted Goodies, will add more new content, touching up Gilgaliad with new models and small quests intended to make the area feel more "alive".




Upon the defeat of Mannimarco, the Champion of Cyrodiil found themselves ensconced in the grand Arch-Magistery of the Mages Guild…


Now it was time to meet all the Guild flunkies…



Gilgaliad is both a Player Home for the magically inclined (though with enough hard drink to satisfy any warrior) and a vast institution of wizardly learning! Built out of the restored halls of an ancient Ayleid City, Gilgaliad offers the Arch-Mage a resort of unparalleled luxury and a wide variety of magical utilities including;


  • 66 fully voiced NPCs
  • Over 40 levels of exploration
  • Teleportation spells allow instant access to all utilities and Player Quarters
  • An Alchemy Garden featuring over 20 types of MOROB added flora, as well as all from Vanilla, SI, and Cobl
  • Raw Welkynd and Varla stone harvesting and refining
  • Gemstone to Soulgem refining
  • Powerful magic scrolls created through Welkynd magic
  • A personal realm of Oblivion replete with Daedra followers
  • A Skooma procuring Butler

And a wizards tower for the Player's enjoyment stocked with every manner of food and drink!!! You'll have to fight to keep the other wizards away from it!

To access Gilgaliad, simply become Arch-Mage of the Mages Guild and look for a “Letter from Traven” on the Arch-Mage’s night stand. Reading it will begin the quest that will unlock the facility. Visit Gilgaliad before becoming Arch-Mage for a special surprise.

Gilgaliad does require Border Regions to be disabled, with instructions to do so below under Installation.

If you would like to tour Gilgaliad before finishing the Mages Guild questline type SetFactionRank 00022296 09 into the console. This will make you Arch-Mage immediately, though it's only advisable to do so for a test run as its effects on the MG quest line are untested.

Gilgaliad currently only supports Manual Installation, omod support for OBMM will be added in the coming months.
 
Manual Installation:

1.Unpack contents of GilgaliadMOROB.zip into your Oblivion Data folder
2.In the Oblivion Launcher, enable Gilgaliad.esp, MOROB_Main.esm, and Cobl_Main.esm (if you are also installing Cobl)
3.Set bBorderRegionsEnabled=0 in your Oblivion.ini (if you haven't already)
4.Enjoy!
 
Given that Gilgaliad is a content mod, I would seriously advise making it relatively late in your load order
 
Manual Uninstallation

1.     Disable Gilgaliad.esp and MOROB.esm from your launcher
2.     Delete Gilgaliad.esp, MOROB.esm, and the following files from your Oblivion Data folder.

·      Data\sound\FX\Gilgaliad
·      Data\sound\Voice\Gilgaliad.esp
·      Data\textures\MOROB
·      Data\textures\menus\MOROB

In addition to patching the conflicts detailed below, we have EXTENSIVE plans for expanding the story of Gilgaliad.
 
We’re focused on creating a quest line that gives all those “Conjurers” and their assorted Daedra a bit of backstory and maybe even a leader! Surely they have some better reason for existing other than providing the player with a post-Oblivion Crisis Daedra heart/Scamp Skin supermarket!

We are also looking to improve certain aspects of the mod as they stand right now, including new voice-acting, with some interest in hiring professional talent.

We have several side projects in the works including developing some small content mods that will MOROB assets to other areas of the, beginning with a project to Gilgalify the Mages Guild through addition of MOROB assets into Mages Guild areas.

Rywyn Productions is aware of 3 major conflicts at this point.
 
1.    Magic Midas Spells of Aurum – PATCHED!!! The patch relocates the conflicting Broke Back Mines to a nearby hillside just south of Fort Ontus

2.   UL Brena River RavinePATCHED!!! The patch seamless integrates UL Brena's Suicide Falls with Gilgaliad's edits to the same area. With the patch, enjoy the length of the Brena from its mouth at the Abecean to its source among innumerable crick and brook high above the canyon, all flowing from the enchanted pools of Gilgaliad itself.
 
3.    Rathunas
– IN DEVELOPMENT!!! The patch will take the form of a series of updates to both Gilgaliad and Rathunas, which will allow the mods to coexist independently.  On top of that there will be a "patch" .esp that will seamlessly merge both mods into a single cohesive western Colovian landscape. This is an extensive project being worked on by both Rywyn Productions and the Rathunas team.




Though at the current time we are unaware of any major issues, please let us know of any encountered!

Though it is our intention to release MOROB.esm and associated textures and meshes as a shared redistributable library, this is not yet possible. It is among our highest priorities however and we hope to do so early 2017.
If this plan goes through, MOROB will be redistributable, requiring only that its own readme with associated credits be included and notification given to Rywyn Productions, to be  forwarded along to component mod authors. 

Until that time resources must be extracted from MOROB on a piece meal basis and those components individually credited as above. 

Rywyn Productions Resources can be used freely for non-commercial purposes, as long as credit is attributed and notification is given to Slartibart on the Oblivion Nexus.
