Changelogs

Umbra the Unfortunate makes it possible to save Lenwin after the Daedric quest of Clavicus Vile has been completed. Also, Irroke the Wide will act as a blacksmith, so it should make more sense for Lenwin to have been his apprentice. There is also a book that basically just contains the pre-3rd Era part of the lore page of Umbra on the UESP Wiki, and then there is also a small basement added to Irroke the Wide's house that acts as a tiny quest reward player home. Fort Homestead has also received a new room, in which there should be a small boss fight. The mod was created as a result of a brilliant mod request on the forums by Inafog - also the name of the mod is the name of the mod request. The idea in the mod is to first complete the Daedric quest of Clavicus Vile without killing Umbra, then, after that quest has been completed, a new quest will begin that involves saving Umbra. Before using this mod, do note that it will not be of professional quality and might therefore contain all sorts of bugs. You have been warned!

The original request by Inafog, for those interested, although the mod might not strictly follow any of the ideas presented there, can be found on the forums.

There is also an optional file that changes the looks of Umbra's armor to something more like the Morrowind version. It uses the meshes and textures from Vvardenfell Imports mod by themythofanst, so the bsa archive from that mod needs to be present and loaded for the optional file to function properly.

Requirements

  • The Unofficial Oblivion Patch
  • Oblivion Script Extender (OBSE)

Wrye Bash
is necessary for this mod to function properly with other mods. Fluffy Follower Frill is required for any follower features for Lenwin - Umbra the Unfortunate will automatically detect that mod and use the follower management system it features to make Lenwin a potential follower if the quest to save her has been completed.

Installation & Removal

To install this mod, a mod manager would be recommended. Uninstallation is not supported. Updating from an older version can cause issues. When updating from an older version, if you have already completed the quest to save Lenwin, you can try this command to see if you can make everything work: SetStage UmbraTheUnfortunate 100

Compatibility

Incompatible with other mods that modify Umbra person or Irroke the Wide. Also might conflict with mods modifying Pell's Gate and/or Vindasel. Check for compatibility patches, especially from mhahn123. This mod should be loaded before mods like Weather - All Natural and Oblivion Character Overhaul, but a Bashed Patch must be used. Not using Bashed Patch will likely cause all sorts of issues also with mods other than this one.

Known Issues & Bugs

See the bugs section of the mod page for bugs. The bugs section tab is right next to the comments section tab. Should you find any bugs or something else that clearly should not be there, do be so kind as to report it in the bugs section. It might also be a good idea for people considering whether to use this mod to see what bugs have been reported.
