About this mod

The generic Oblivion apparel "Ring of Vitality" modified to also give 50% Spell Absorption, 100% Shield, Detect Life at 105 ft, Night-Eye (constant) and Water Breathing (constant). Alternative version without Night-Eye and Detect Life included! Alternate custom diamond ring version included!

Permissions and credits
Update 3: Thank you everyone for posting the images for me!

Update 2: Thanks to Nexusmods' Prodigy1208's generous usage policy, I have finally uploaded a version that doesn't give enemy NPCs wearing the Ring of Vitality near-invincibility! All credit for the mesh, textures and original .esp go to Prodigy1208 and his Fine Diamond Ring Modder's Resource.

Once again, I can only place the images to this version of the ring in the .rar file, because I cannot upload any images to either my own mod or other peoples' mods. Until the horrible image system is finally fixed or the old system comes back as an alternative way to upload images - which, by the way, actually worked! - my hands are tied. If the new system works for you though, feel free to post any screenshots in the user uploaded images section.

The Constant Active Effects for the White Diamond Ring are:
Resist Disease, Magic, Paralysis and Poison 100% on Self.
Reflect Spell 100% on Self + Spell Absorption 50 pts on Self.
Shield 100% on Self + Water Breathing on Self.

Since the ring box's location and the IDs are the same as Prodigy's original mod, it will conflict with his original mod. So if you want to use his version of the diamond ring while also using my mod, you should use the Improved Ring of Vitality for Atronach Users mod instead.

Since the White Diamond Ring version of the mod is a custom item and mesh mod, you must first remove any White Diamond Rings from the player's and/or any NPC's inventory before disabling/deleting the .esp, meshes and textures. The White Diamond Ring version is not just a simple vanilla-item edit like my Improved Ring of Vitality mod. You have been warned!

Oh and for the unrelated mods shown in the screenshots for the White Diamond Ring, the hair is a Peggysims hair from Apachii's Apachii's Wigs For Males and Females, the nails are from Mondstein's Fingernails for HGEC, the choker is from mkat101's HGEC Bare Shoulder Dresses and finally, this lovely girl was made possible by lunasprite13's heavily underrated Luna's Webspinner's Daughter Race mod. And once again, the crazy weight limit was made possible by Forsaken32's Carry All You Want.

Update 1: Going by VictorDragonslayer's suggestion, I made an alternate .esp that will overwrite the previous .esp: the alternate download will remove Night-Eye and Detect Life from the Ring of Vitality. So with the alternate .esp, the Ring of Vitality will be a right-hand ring that gives your character Water-breathing, 85% Shield (85% is the cap) and 50% Spell Absorption. I still want someone with vanilla (aka, non-SI) games to test the ring (whether the main or alternate version) for me though, just so I'm sure that it's safe for non-SI users.

Images: They're packed with the .esp in the .rar file, since the new image upload system is broken. When Dark0ne fixes the new image upload system, I will upload screenshots. The .rar also contains a readme.txt file.

Why I modified the Ring of Vitality to be a right-hand ring that also gives 50% Spell absorption, along with other constant effects (explained in detail further down):
Well, I mix and match from a lot of clothing mods. Unfortunately, I've had to uninstall/stop using many beautiful outfits simply because they don't have enough separates to fit all my enchantments. At first, I tried looking into multiple enchantment mods, but the one I last used didn't allow Night-Eye to be enchanted onto apparel, along with being potentially crash-inducing (it's the one that enchants all apparel with the same name if you don't custom name it to something else beforehand).

So I decided to download the Oblivion Construction Set to make the gear I needed myself. I liked the Ring of Vitality, because it offered immunity to disease, paralysis and poison, so I decided to use that ring instead for my new "super-ring". So why didn't I download the many god-item rings offered by other mods? Because I didn't want a whole bunch of enchantments that I didn't need, I just wanted to be able to use the enchantments I needed while at the same time being able to wear any kind of pretty and/or 0 weight clothing I wanted.

I did make this with Construction Set v1.2 and didn't use TES Gecko however, so be advised that anybody who doesn't have Shivering Isles might not be able to use this mod, even if all it does is enhance a piece of generic magic apparel found in the vanilla game. It works fine in my game, but if it causes problems in your game, please leave a detailed bug report in the Bug report tab, which is located between the posts and forums tab. If you report in comments that's fine too, I'll just move the comment to bug reports and address your issue. If you want to fix any problems that are in the mod yourself, feel free to and I'll add your update with full credit! (I just started modding Oblivion yesterday, literally. With this ring.)

Install: Put the .esp into your Data folder, activate in Oblivion Launcher and play!

Uninstall: Deactivate the .esp in Oblivion Launcher/OBMM/etc. and/or remove the .esp file.

The original ring gave 100% resistance to Disease, Paralysis and Poison, along with being worn on the left hand.
With my mod, the ring now:

- ...is worn on the right hand.
- ...gives you a constant Night-Eye effect. (Shown in a screenshot with Timeslip's Night-Eye Shader Replacement.)
- ...allows you to Detect Life 105 ft from your character.
- ...gives you 50% Spell Absorption to compliment the Atronach birthsign's 50% to give your toon a 100% chance to absorb incoming spells, both hostile and friendly.
- ...gives your character 100% Shield: on a toon wearing no armor, you get 85% armor rating, because 85% is the cap. If your toon is wearing armor, they will get an 85% boost to their armor rating.
- ...allows your toon to breathe underwater.

Strongly Suggested Mod To Use With This Mod:

Timeslip's Night-Eye Shader Replacement (I used Super-bright in the screenshots, but if it is too much for you during the day, use the normal bright setting.)
