Oblivion

About this mod

A player home inspired by Skyrim's Hearthfire expansion.

Permissions and credits
Inspired by the spectacular design of Skyrim's Hearthfire expansion, I wanted to create a simple, lore-friendly player home for Oblivion. I wanted my home to be discoverable, have fast-travel access, lots of storage (near the door), and plenty of room for some of the amazing third-party NPC's created by our modding community. All assets used are vanilla. There is one file to install.

Thanks to Morrowind Modding Showcases for the generous video review!

Updates:

1.01 (Minor tweaks only):
(If you're happy with your performance, you don't need to update)
-Optimized lighting for more FPS
-Added priority npc path nodes to exterior chairs/table area
-Tweaked interior AI path grid

>>> Added two alternate versions! <<<
All three versions contain the exact same content, the only difference is the number of "lit" candles and active lighting sources.

-HiEffects: The interior has many "lit" candle/fire sources. Lowered ambient lighting to compensate. Only run this if you have extrememly capable hardware.

-Norm: This is what I use. It's balanced - most lights are "lit", but some have been "blown" out. I'm happy with the FPS I get with this version. It was optimized for my Radeon 6970.

-BFPS (Better FPS): This version makes minimal use of candle/fire lighting and relies on ambient lighting instead (same ambient values as the Norm version). This allows a higher framerate than the other two.

1.0 Update:
Added Better Framerate ALTERNATE Esp file (thanks to great feedback)
-Increased ambient lighting and reduced spot lighting sources to reduce CPU load
-Significantly reduced clutter to reduce memory usage

No known Conflicts:
-I can't imagine for the love of Azura why any mod would conflict with vanilla assets, other than worldspace spacial overlapping. Check the map location in the image gallery to get an idea of the locale.
-Depending on the sheer number of HD NPC followers you have in any interior cell, you will pay in precious frames.

Plans I will probably never accomplish:
-Basement w/forge
-NPC steward

Most importantly, thank you for visiting!
